Jake Ashworth is a difference maker. A playmaker. A winner. A leader. Whatever position, he belongs in the game on every play if possible. The effort and skill is there blocking, running and receiving. He’s a smaller version of Shea Adams.

All other things aside, good luck to both teams and communities.

Hoping all players and fans travel safely and represent Mid-County with class as well as honor the heritage of the two schools and combined communities.

Jude Gohlke willed PN-G to a win.

Thoughts… coaches modify strategy to fit the strengths of the overall team. Formations follow strategy. Every team out there would like to have the ‘problem’ of having a stable of very good receivers and a couple of QBs that can spin the pigskin like Ashworth and Gohlke. It would be questionable to not engage those capabilities.
Even so, last time I checked available stats, yardage gained on offense was 50/50 run/pass. Averaging almost 39 points per game. Both the run and pass will be needed to go far in the playoffs. The offensive strategy does not need to mimic the past 2 or 3 seasons. It should match the current team. As mentioned, getting the ball into the hands of the best playmakers is indeed a great strategy. Most of them are not a running back. And continue working on any weaknesses along the way.

Have faith, support the coaches and players, and enjoy the 2026 ride.

Crazy to think Jackson and Valcin weren't even gonna play football in high school. We’re so lucky to have both of them.

I’m glad we’re privileged enough to get to complain about execution in a game that was over 10 minutes in. (Against a playoff team mind you) Against every non title contender we’ve faced, it’s been 50+. Yes, I’m sure there are things to work on. When the easy scores aren’t there against competent defense, we will need to be able to grind out tough scores.

Maybe it’s not perfect yet, I trust this coaching staff to continue improving and look, play your best football in November/December

Here’s some perspective on the season, for what it’s worth. MaxPreps ranking are based partially on strength of schedule. Below are the top 25 teams in region 3, all classifications. PN-G’s strength of schedule is very respectable at 40.2.

As an additional comparison, everyone makes a big deal of South Oak Cliff’s tough preseason schedule. They are rated at 35 (Region 2).
