Dallas ISD is the second largest school district in the state. And the seventeenth largest in the United States. 37,500+ high school students in 2026. With the open district policy, that means a 5A school there has access to a talent pool equivalent to 10+ 6A high schools. Nice advantage playing against opponents with 4-5% of that number. Any out of district transfers to such a school are just the topping on the cake icing. It’s time for the UIL to make some adjustments.

They do, and it’s not close. This is an old number, but in 2024 they had had something like 180 transfers that involved sports in the past couple/few years. That’s not all football, but it’s more than any other school. Their entire narrative is a fiction. It’s a manufactured team relying on a permissive system for every one of their championships. They won’t even step on the field unless they start out already holding every advantage. Add to that the fact they have extremely good coaches and you have a juggernaut. But that’s the point - ANY team with good coaches and a stacked roster is going to do what SOC is doing. So, SOC makes sure they always have a flow of new stars moving in every single year. It’s a fake team with fake trophies.

At about an hour ten in, they touch on transfers. Seems like Dave Campbell’s is trying to throw Todd a softball question to help explain away their transfer numbers. His excuse is they do PAPF’s for 8th graders? Weird considering the number of players who transferred with previous varsity experience. I don’t know if my disdain for their program has made me biased or if they just live in an echo chamber and believe their own nonsense.

I’m hearing talk that 2028 grad Ledger Hansing who started every game this last year at H/TE may get to see some time at DE if not moved there permanently this season.
Or he may see playing time on both offense and defense. Kid is super smart and strong as they come and was a standout MLB and OL before being moved to offense this past year.

Upcoming sophomore Mason Werner (#72) is projected as a very good offensive lineman. He was on the white team. Not super tall but powerful and agile.

Gohlke could play anywhere on the field and be successful. He has quickness, speed, vision, and the "IT" factor. You could line him up at CB, FS, SS, QB, RB, WR, KR, PR, and FG Holder and he would be a threat for all-district. I'd never take him off the field. I'd use him like Art Briles used Kendall Briles...QB, WR, RB, FS, KR, PR, FG Holder...any chance for him to touch the ball, I'd give it to him. Any time he has the ball in open space, he's a threat to score, and that includes on defense.

The town of Kilgore is an oil rich town (more acquisition and executive than refining) if I’m remembering correctly they became the next bigger “Spindletop” in the early 1900s (20s from memory I could look it up) (same with Carthage in natural gas) so lots of blue and white collar rabid support for the sports teams like in PNG LOTS of $$$ behind them

I have personal knowledge of Carthage. My family lives there and their children go there. I wont go into detail but lets just say they have in common the exact same thing another team we have been battling for 4 years.

Losing McLeod is a significant loss because of the experience he brings. He stepped into a starting role as a sophomore. Unfortunately, an injury caused him to miss the majority of this past baseball season. Just a year ago, he was All-State HM in baseball. With his goal of playing baseball at the collegiate level, it’s understandable that he’s choosing to focus entirely on baseball moving forward.
