2026 Indians

I read on the other forum that Nederland looked pretty good against BC in their scrimmage yesterday. Especially their D line.
And WOS was pretty solid against Vidor.
Looking forward to see how we do against WOS's D next week.

Has PN-G put on the pads yet? The Indians only get one week in pads before lining up with WO-S, correct? We may be a tad rusty against the Mustangs.

The PN-G Indians football players will hopefully keep a slow burn in their hearts and minds and reach levels of personal improvement during the offseason that they never knew possible. More power, better quickness, better endurance. Push each other. Improve every day. Don’t accept anything less. You’ve seen that reaching the next level of physical dominance and performance is the path. There is no other way. You were very close in 2025. It is entirely within your reach. Unfinished business. Finish it in 2026!

As PNG enters the 2026 football season can’t be but filled with some Anxiety. The 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 successes were outstanding by coaches, players, band, spirt groups and fans. Can never take success for granted.

As a fan I see this as a pivotal year. In PNG’s rich football history the season and state playoff successes have not extended beyond three and four year stretches.

The 1953,1954, and 1955 glory days were followed by the 1974,1975, 1976, and 1977 outstanding seasons. The following 1978-1983 years were barren at 30-28-2 under Ethridge’s last years followed by a complete collapse in 1984-1988 years of 12–35-2. Again cannot take success for granted.

I have faith in our PNG coaches and players to work hard and dedicate themselves to succeed. The fan support will be there. A continued success in the season and playoffs in 2026 will begin a new streak of excellence in PNG football legacy.

I really like this post. And I don't think we are going to see a drop off like that in this era but I have to admit that I wonder about it. Still, I think our current staff is one of the best in our great state.

Our lines aren't as big but we have the skill positions like I've never seen. These predistrict games will tell us a lot but not everything. I want a trip to Dallas for Christmas

This season will test the OC and OL coaches abilities. DCTXHS Stepp is predicting a SOC vs PNG state championship game based on PNG’s exceptional offensive skill players. PNG OC demonstrated in last year’s LaPorte game how to utilize these offensive play makers. Focus will be on the OL.
PNG has the very best DC and defensive coaches in the state. PNG has an experienced secondary, OLBs and NT returning. Score often and quick.

I agree. I don't think PN-G will have the size and power on the OL like they did from 2021-2025. That's OK. The OL kids will be successful using technique, angles, footwork, and teamwork to create leverage. Spread the field, use formations and motion, and find ways to get the ball to T. Henry, J. Gohlke, and the quick sophmore WR in open space. The QB run game will be a threat. We may start slow this season. WOS, PAM, WB, Brenham, and Crawford could cause a slow start. That's a tough five weeks of football. That's OK. Just stay healthy and get better for district. GO INDIANS!!!

Who is the sophmore WR you’re referring to?

Especially in HS SIZE is maybe the least(or mid) valuable of
POWER - AGILITY - PLAYBOOK IQ - SIZE - ??
Don’t get me wrong if you can have the other size is icing on the cake

Peyton Woods caught everything thrown his way playing WR for the White Team in Spring game.
That's the WR. He did catch everything thrown to him in the spring game and he had the quickness and speed to get open and do something with the football after he caught it. Gohlke, Jackson, and what Woods was able to show in the spring game, should cause problems for other teams.

Don’t forget senior WR #80 Bennett to add to the mix. Hope OC can get flare passes to Henry. PNG hasn’t been able to execute Screen pass plays in the past to Henry. Get Henry in open spaces and let him fly.
