FINAL: Indians 27, Bulldogs 24

[NDNzeke]

First and goal at 10. Go for the W!!!

[NDNzeke]

Once again, play calling is critical. Decent gain on first sets up 2nd and goal around 6.

Good game Indians...several things i know for sure after tonight Jude Gohlke is a heck of a football player the double digit win that was guaranteed didn't happen and I don't see mid county madness happening in the 4th round neither team is good enough to get there right now...I do wish the Indians luck the rest of the way

Nederland has a very good team. It was an even game, like most MCM games are, and it could have gone either way. Good luck to Nederland to close out district and into the playoffs. I can see both teams winning a couple of playoff games, but the fourth round and beyond...like you, I'm not so sure. Good game, Dogs. See you in baseball season.

[1970]

Congrats, both teams. My old heart can't take too many of these type games - only one per season.

I am going to sound like a get off my lawn old man, but I am pretty shocked Nederland was allowed to play Neck while the student section chanted suck that bulldog D***, bi***.

PNG or Nederland can take out FB Crawford in the fourth round. Nederland can beat Huntsville and/or Montgomery. I have seen both play.

If true, disgusting.

No class.

No class.

They also boo’d our band as they entered the field for half time? Right after the PNG fans just finished applauding their half time performance.

Jude Gohlke willed PN-G to a win.

I knew if we were going to win this game, we would have to rely on Jude's feet and not his arm. He has an incredible knack for finding a small seam and slipping through it at full speed! What a great athlete! As one of the NDN Press announcers said: "When in doubt, give the ball to Jude!"

Turn the page...on to Baytown Lee at one of my favorite stadiums, STALLWORTH.

GO INDIANS!!!

Stats for tonight...Nederland: Rushing-142 yards. Passing-104 yards. PNG: Rushing-202 yards. Passing-48 yards.

As I recall, there were two dropped or should-have-been caught passes and at least two pass-interference calls where the passes would probably have been caught, so there could have been many more yards passing. That is to say, the quality of passing was somewhat better than the stats show.

In any case, if the passing/catching game can improve, I think that will be a big factor in what happens over the next several weeks.

With Jackson’s miss, I think maybe he was thinking about scoring more than, first, catching the ball. Not a highly unusual mistake for receivers.
