    Next Coach?

I'd personally prefer Joseph since it would keep two coaching trees with tons of Texas high school football royalty in them materially invested in the PN-G program, but on the other hand, Flannigan rebuilt both Crosby and Tomball from the ground up, and might be more likely to stick around PN-G...

I could be wrong, but this doesn't sound like Stump. Kevin Flanigan would be my first guess, but I'd be surprised to see his name in the mix, honestly.

Ashly Elam retweeted something from Matt Stepp today. Finalists are in town for interviews this week, and some of them have apparently already been on campus. One of the finalists is a Houston-area HC and the other is a DFW-area coordinator. That last bit is very interesting given Dodge's...

    Feb 7 East Texas Rankings

Honestly surprised the boys' soccer team isn't ranked higher, but that's alright. Gives them motivation.

I understand all of your points, and I don’t disagree with the underlying sentiment. I will point out, though, that once a public information request was filed for the list of applicants, Texas law required disclosure, and with marginal room for variation depending on exactly how the request was...

    81 Years...

As I recall, that was Hurricane Rita’s doing. The district only received so much insurance money and labor and material costs shot up after the hurricane. They had to prioritize repairs and there wasn’t enough to get to the planetarium in the end. By the time the bond rolled around three years...

Ashly Elam said a few days ago that he planned to file a public information request for the list of all the applicants yesterday, after the application window had closed. That’ll give us our best measuring stick by which we can judge the integrity of selection process, in my opinion.

    Track and Field

Had him for health class in high school. He coached the basketball team at that time. I believe he’s since gone into administration. Great dude.

It needed to go in the end. The school was rehabilitating it as best they could, but believe me, it was time.

    2022 Schedule

FB Marshall is not the juggernaut FB Marshall of old. Washed out in the first round against Barbers Hill last year. Their record was inflated by a soft district. I wouldn’t consider them to be guaranteed the district championship by any means.

    New look district next year?

As long as we field a quality team, we should always be in the playoffs in this district. The question is how far we go.

    New look district next year?

Dr. Ryan, the high school principal, is responsible for that. Personally, I’m very pleased to see WO-S and Memorial back on the schedule. We need to renew those old rivalries, and I think playing more SETX teams does a lot to gin up fan attendance.

    Indian Girls Soccer Dominates

Look for both soccer programs to wreck shop this year. It’ll be a good year all the way around for Indian soccer.

To the earlier point about parts of the community being run down, right now, Port Neches looks better than it has at any point in my lifetime. Between all the remodeling over the last two years, all the new construction on the riverfront, and all the new businesses downtown, the community’s...

Crippen completed 62% of his passes last season and racked up an astonishing 25-30 passing record in PN-G’s stunning upset of undefeated #6 Montgomery in the second round of the playoffs. It was one of the best performances I’ve ever seen from a high school quarterback. With 16 of 22 starters...

I know what you mean. I’m in Leander, at least for now. For all Cedar Park’s success, they can’t hold a candle to PN-G when it comes to community involvement and fan support.

I could not be more proud of our team and our community. The spirit here is unmatched! I am so lucky to be a part of it and to wear the purple and white! The journey of this football season, with these coaches and our players, will stay with me forever.  -- PN-G Head Coach Jeff Joseph
