I found this at the PNGISD.ORG site under athletic department/football varsity.

2009 Season Highlight DVDs
The 2009 Football Season Highlight DVDs are available for purchase for $20. The 2-hour DVD features highlights from every regular season game as well as the two playoff games. If you would like to purchase a DVD of the 2009 District Champions, come by or call the athletic office at 729-7644 ext. 1123.

My question is how long has this been there. We would all have loved to get our hands on this before the holiday break. Anyone else know when this came out?

I can not wait to get my highlight DVD.

Well, you probably remember Coach telling us about it, but he said that they would be available at the banquet. I guess they were ready earlkier than expected.

Did someone say that the kids that run the scoreboard were also going to offer a highlight video?

Has anyone bought the athletic department video? How is it? I haven't had time to get by there during school hours.

They typically offer a DVD with all of the video announcements for the year towards May and the announcements made during football season always have highlight footage on them. I think when it was mentioned it was suggested that someone contact the video teacher to see if they could get a copy of some of those highlight reels.

Now that this DVD has come up, that suggestion may be pointless. I would imagine that this DVD would have some of that footage.

Bought my copy today. I haven't watched the whole thing, but what I have seen is awe inspiring. I just wish I could get my hands on some Hi-Def footage since they won't let me use my camera any more.

The district now states that no private cameras are allowed. They tell parents that they are welcome to get video from the athletic department after each game if they desire video.

I thought they had stated that you could film little Sally and her dance routine,, etc., but you just can't tape the entire game.

Maybe that's to keep scouts at bay?

Yes, you can film half time performances. It's game footage you can't get. I'm pretty sure it comes from us putting footage on the 'net. I'd bet they wanted to control what got out for anyone to see at any time. You can tell on the highlight dvd that the plays are in no certain order. Games are grouped together, but there is absolutely no scouting potential from it.

My view is that Faircloth was hired to win. That was the whole reason for change. The whole reason a very good man was moved to another position. If limiting private video is one of Faircloth's methods of winning, then so be it. It is not illegal. The UIL states that districts must give permission for video to be taken. PNGISD has chosen not to give permission. That is fine with me.

My point with my statement was in wishing that the video quality would have been better. It is jagged quite a bit on a Hi-Def TV. It is also not wide screen. If I had been allowed to take video, it would neither have been jagged nor have been a 4:6 ratio. Just wishful thinking is all I was doing.

Let's look at the positives of the video. It is awe inspiring to watch, and I haven't even watched the whole thing. If you have it, or when you get it, pull up the Nederland game. During a kickoff, the video is shown from above the goal posts. A PN-G player is circled as the play starts. Watch what he does. I remembering Coach Faircloth referring to this as "Watch this train wreck" as he showed us the clip in the booster meeting. In this case, "train wreck" is a very good thing.

The PA News FNE coverage puts the full game on the web anyway. A few series of plays wouldn't make any scouting difference.

Where exactly did the district state that no private cameras are allowed? Was it on the PNGISD web site or cable Channel 7? If so, not everyone looks at those two places. I read during the season on this posting site that no cameras were allowed but have always wondered how this info was received. My daughter always "filmed" when her son was in the game and no one ever told her she couldn't do it.

I know the whole "no filming" issue is not really the topic here, but is this possibly why I couldn't find "THE" play anywhere on YouTube?? I looked several times hoping it was posted but I never found it

The district had it on the JumboTron before all of the home games.

As far as my filming goes, yes this is why. I quit bringing my camera to games starting with the Livingston game. It's real pity too. Last summer I invested in a Canon 1080i video camera. I was working to figure out how to post full 1080 video to the web for the people that have those TVs when the district put a stop to all of it.

It was on ch6 for a while. In fact, I may have it archived somewhere. If not, I KNOW George has it.

What's 'the play'?

I think they're talking about the single greatest play PN-G made all season long: Dre Dunbar's two-point conversion that tied up the Central game with :43 left on the clock and allowed us to come back and win the game in double-overtime, making the Indians 10-0 for the first time since 1977.

That was the best game I've ever been to, scary moments and all.
