If Cherokee is played 4,373 times then im assuming the score will be:

PN-G 30,611
GP 0

Now I'm pretty sure you guys play don't just play cherokee when you score. Last PNG game I was at was several years ago, Nederland spanked the tribe, don't remember the score, but I know I heard cherokee a bunch, certinly more times than indian scores!

I was part of a GP band that set a National record over 44 consecutive Sweepstakes #1 rankings. One of the best bands in the State of Texas.

Go CATS, GO DOGS!

"Short" Cherokee (the last 10 or so measures) is played after every touchdown, first down when PN-G is on offense, fourth down when PN-G is on defense, and whenever we generally feel like it.

"Long" Cherokee (the whole song) is played when the band enters the stadium, after every PAT, at the end of every quarter, as the football team exits the field after the game, during the "Marching I" at halftime, and when the football team runs out onto the field at the beginning of the game and after halftime. Also, it is occasionally played when PN-G has a fourth down on offense or is making a goal-line stand on defense to encourage the team.

War Chant is played whenever you tick us off.

Geronimo's Fury is played whenever you REALLY tick us off.

Housequake is played during the third quarter and there are several other percussion cadences that are played throughout the game.

Bandkid, how is the band looking this year?? Have we gotten any larger in numbers?

We stand at about 185 in numbers and word around the band hall is that there are still a few students waiting to transfer in from other districts. Because many are involved in sports as well, the numbers on the field will stay the same at around 120, but there will be more in the stands. Also, the fifth bass drum (the BIG one) has returned to the percussion section along with the second quint, and there are nine tubas this year - the most since I've been in band. According to Mr. Wells, this is the largest roll the band has had since the late 90s.
Wooooo Whooooo :woohoo: the band :band: :band: :band: is going to be AWESOME ! I can't wait for the first CHEROKEE of the season !

Win or not, score or not, I'm pretty sure you will be tired of hearing it before the game is over and it will be in your dreams for many nights to come.

I have four or possibly six tickets to the PNG-gp game that I am trying to get rid of for someone who isn't going to be able to attend. They are in Sec 111 supposed to be about the 40 or 45 yard line. I know the school has some but probably not as good as these. Any one interested?? Only disadvantage is sitting by the wooo-whooo ladies.

Cherokee will be played 4,373 times by half-time. It will be closer to 10,000 times for the game! :woohoo:

And I will be singing along every time,

"poor little indian boy....."

Wow, the envy from the little doggies who had their butts handed to them year after is evident even after moving away. And don't even try this we own you now crap because Ned has yet to beat us in the Faircloth era!! Poor little bullpip. Moved away but brought high school angst with him.

Hopefully, you'll hear our fight song quite a few times throughout the game :hookem:

Ya'll have a fight song? Hopefully it's not the A&M fight song, that 174 other schools use.

Good. I'm glad that we finally get to play a school that doesn't have the same fight song as four or five of the other schools we play.
