Almost all these players started or saw a lot of playing time. The defense will return 9 starters. The offense has 7 starters returning.

Some of them are obvious standouts and will likely receive post season honors this year.

And this doesn't factor in the JV players that will be in the mix.

3 Cole Robinson LB 5-10 195 11
10 Dylan McGough WR 11
11 Keynel McZeal WR 6-4 215 11
12 Nathan Vidrine DB 11
20 Noah Graham RB 11
21 Chase Gordon DB 11
22 Logan LeJeune DB 5-10 175 11
23 Austin Hughes LB 11
30 Cameron Wommack DB 11
31 Keegan Macon LB 11

Next season is full of promise. Morse will be the biggest hurdle to overcome. We have two talented choices to fight it out. I would say Johnson is the leading candidate with Bost a close second. Looking for an even better defense next season. Offense may take a short time to get going but I expect to have a stout running game early on with the strength in the o-line

Next season will be decided between now and game 1. Here's to hoping that the returning players commit themselves to building on 2015.
Every player needs to take every opportunity to improve, every day. :flaming:

BIG hurdle next year is no Sr. Qb and leadership like Rembert and Morse. They do have some talent like mentioned. Have to get the defense up to speed!

I think leaders will develope and they will play their hearts out BUT as seen last night over 500 yds given up on defense just won't get it.

Only team that I know of that overcomes size is WOS. They have 2 things we do not, speed and a super experienced and tough coaching staff that don't put up with S$&@.

That's a fact, we will do well in district and our kids will play 100% and look good, Beating Nederland and WOS and 3/4 rounds in the playoffs---????????

Even WO-S has it's limits in beating superior opponents.

LeJeune and Hughes were legitimate junior leaders on defense. I think Morris can have a monster year next season as well.

If they want to go further in the playoffs, they'll need to take their play to another level and encourage other team members to do the same. Tackling is the biggest weakness that can be improved. The speed factor is more nature than nurture, so that's not easy to change.

Agreed,

Still need a QB and defense. Kept hearing a kid named Von -- maybe a Db -- making all kind of tackles last night.

As I have always said, we will look good and represent our school well.

3 linemen on both sides of the ball who has started some this year. My biggest thing is this O-line coach brought this bunch a long ways this season he does not take any crap at all. I love his enthusiasm and he will be in his 3rd season of caoching a line with 3 of 5 rturning starters and some that played a bunch this season. This kind of thing gives you a small boost to work through your mistakes when you are young in key areas. Hope to see us running the ball when we tee up to the north next season first game.

Any speed on the horizon? Kaleb Sparks added a dimension last season that wasn't there this year. Cropper had good speed once he hit 3rd gear, but a fast receiver would be great to extend the field.

And having at least one DB that can run down a fast back would be tremendous.

Yes the QB is very fast. Maybe the fastest we have seen in a long while at PNG.

In order for the 16 season to be a success, IMO, Bf, will need to change his offense with Johnson. He can still spread it out, but will need to incorporate a read option in most of his formations. Johnson is young and will need a year or so to perfect his passing skills. His attributes include speed and quickness, this will be utilized in the spread option. Most teams that are playing for State championships are doing this. Spread the formation with a hint of pass, and run the ball with the QB. This includes the likes of Todd Dodge, Cornell Thompson, etc. If BF can make the changes the offense will get better throughout the year barring injury. The offensive line was less than impressive for most of they year. However, several of these kids have played a year or so and hopefully can step it up over the summer to be better for the season. Defensively, we have some starters coming back. My main worry again is undersized, slow, linebackers. The secondary is put into tons of one on one situations that are difficult. And of course without better tackling, we will struggle. The secondary should be fine. I also feel the Rb situation will be better than last year with the JV kid coming up. Runnels will be used more as a blocker if he can stay on the field. Wr should be above average as well. BF will need to make a decision on KM. If he cannot catch the ball consistently, possibly a move to defense may help. BF might also want to go to the soccer team right now and work on a kicker. Short fields and missed extra points hurt. I surely would not want to have to go for 2 on the first drive again, Ala Nederland game. This group of kids has been phenomenal throughout their playing days starting at the youth level. They have beat and competed with the best since the age of 5. They have won STJFL superbowls.. Coached by dads. A realistic goal should be making the playoffs. Losing Rembert IMO will be the hardest replacement. :machinegun:

Good evaluation don't know about BF slowing down on passing records agree with the opinion offense might lose 1 or 2 players that move. Rumors as always

Def agree with tackles. IMO the only one that could match up with a true D1 we is Keneal so yep match him up on defense
Need a kid to show up and take a head off like Golke/Weber/Shipley kind of bad a$&
