Great recognition.

NG Hernandez and RB Isaiah Nguyen played well enough to earn a spot too. Hernandez is the best soph defensive lineman we’ve had in a while.

I bet 290+ pound Bryce Loftin will be excited to learn he received all district honors as a receiver. ;)

These selections must be based on district play only. Jeff Joseph ultimately achieved far more then the FBM coach who was selected as coach of the year. And Landon Guarnere made play after big play late in the season.

Any idea on when All State selections come out? We’re bound to have a few kids selected.
Pretty sure that happens after Christmas. I expect at least 2. One on defense and one on offense. If PNG had been the victors and a few key players had bigger games, maybe 3 or 4 all-state selections.

Here’s a look at past selections.

NDN Press may have missed a name or two. Someone please ask them to double check the selection list.

Who makes these decisions? And what is a "utility" player for special teams? I don't recall seeing Shea on any of the special teams.
Edit: BTW, these are objective questions, nothing personal, and I don't have a dog in this hunt, etc. My sincere congrats to all of these young men.

Don’t know who came up with this, but can’t imagine anyone but Joseph being selected as Coach of the Year in 9-5A-D2.
Agree. Only reasonable explanation is they decided based on district play. Same reason Guarnere isn’t first team offense.

Yes it is all based on District play.
That’s for sure
I definitely give all the WRs credit
But he stepped up when the spotlight was on for sure
And to go from defense back to offense at first just here and there to more full time to favorite target was impressive
These guys need to be playing next year

Guarnere was put in an odd position due to him going both ways in the beginning and never establishing enough stats in one position during district play. He became well established at receiver in post play and It is very unfortunate for him and other's like Gardiner, and Landry who couldn't build their district stats during district play due to injuries. But, they all three were huge contributors to the success of the team, and I hope to see all three of them get ALL STATE recognitions.

When does All State get published? I looked at a link dated 1/19/23 but it was wrong..still had Roschon Johnson on the list.
