Tough group. And at this point, to have reached this level, all these teams are special.

For the PNG Indians, play your best and let the cards fall where they may. Win or lose over the next 1-4 weeks, it has been a great season, continues to be a great season, and we are proud. You will never be forgotten. Heck, some of us older fans still talk about 70’s players like they were playing last year. So you are part of the PNG legacy no matter what. But it’s not over yet. Keep growing your own legend and defend your championship.

Region I - Argyle
Region II - My heart says PN-G, my brain says SOC
Region III - Richmond Randle
Region IV - CC Miller

Semi-Final: SOC over Argyle
Semi-Final: Richmond Randle over CC Miller
State Champion: Richmond Randle over SOC

I'd love to be wrong and watch PN-G repeat!!! GO INDIANS!
You have to beat the so called “best” to be a champion. What was your last year post? Care to share?

I can't remember...I think I had Argyle from Region I, SOC from Region II, PNG from Region III, and either Liberty Hill or San Antonio Piper in Region IV. I picked a rematch of SOC vs. PNG and I probably had the same disclaimer last year as I have for this year...my heart says PNG and my brain says SOC. Glad I was WRONG. I'm used to being wrong. My wife says that I am wrong three or four times each day. I'm used to it.

Interesting HS playoff fact. Laporte who PNG defeated never lost again game and won their 5AD1 district. Because their football stadium is still undergoing renovations, LaPorte has to travel to Austin Anderson (4th place finisher). La Porte been an orphan playing in surrounding HS stadiums this year.
And Laporte is on to r4 as well after crushing the media’s dreams of a College Station vs A&M Consolidated rematch.
