The PN-G Indians football players will hopefully keep a slow burn in their hearts and minds and reach levels of personal improvement during the offseason that they never knew possible. More power, better quickness, better endurance. Push each other. Improve every day. Don’t accept anything less. You’ve seen that reaching the next level of physical dominance and performance is the path. There is no other way. You were very close in 2025. It is entirely within your reach. Unfinished business. Finish it in 2026!

Anyone know if the Indians will participate in 7-7 next year? With the great group of receivers coming back and Ashworth and West as promising young QBs , it would be tremendous to dial in the routes and timing so that the passing game really clicks in 2026.

After hearing teams claim how their passing game was drastically improved by 7-7 participation, it really feels like it would be a great move. Gholke, Jackson and Benkert are talented receivers. Freshman QB West has been described as having a ‘gun slinger’ arm. And Ashworth has already proven to be a promising QB option. Any chance to keep the passing game at or above the 2025 level, combined with Tyson Henry’s return would maximize the potency of the 2026 offense. An offense designed to keep the best opposing defenses guessing what is coming next. Wouldn’t that be great. And the way to advance further and win it all.

I seem to recall that 7 on 7 has, in fact, seemed to benefit our passing game in the past.

Just heard that Alfredo Salas ‘27 QB has moved to PA Memorial
I thought he had a live arm and made some really nice throws on deep fly routes. He had command of the offense and always did a nice job when he got playing time. I wish him well. Maybe he reconsiders and comes back to PN-G as a back up QB or gets a shot at another position?

It was going to be tough for him to get playing time with Ashworth and West ahead of him next year. Since Memorial is losing their starting QB, it makes sense that he has a better opportunity there. This isn’t meant as hate, just honest observation — in the JV games I watched last year and this year, he looked a little erratic on some throws and he didn’t have the same athleticism as Ashworth. He did show flashes though, especially with some nice throws against MLC. At the end of the day, it’s just an unfortunate situation for him with two talented QBs coming up in the pipeline.

Yes. Look for opportunities to help the team. Based on the eye test, Ashworth gives the team a better chance to win. Much more athletic with more upside. And just a sophomore last year. Coaches obviously thought the same. Word is West is a throwing talent and will also compete for the QB1 job in 2026. It’s great to have good options at any position.

I’ve always said PNG has more “QB talent”
(Overall football talent) than anyone
I’ve many times seen an OL make a one handed “point of the ball” catch - kick a long FG or throw a perfect spiral 40 yards

There’s just more of that at PNG
Guidry would have started at QB at most other schools.

We hear other teams bragging about ‘already grinding’ and guarantees of being back next year. No team has a monopoly on that approach and mindset.

I would take that as a full challenge and motivation to put in the work to prepare more than the other guy. Get stronger, faster, bigger, quicker. Study ‘film’ (HUDL) and know the opponent as well as they know themselves. Study and practice position techniques. If you’re the QB and WR, develop a oneness so that running a route and completing a pass becomes second nature. Defense — become an unrelenting force of energy. A ‘Warrior Defense’.

Championships are won in the offseason. Become the best to be the best.
