Fort Bend Marshall 16 year HC James Williams resigned to take over as HC at new school Tomball West. Williams had a 148-49 career record at FBM with two state finalists appearances. In his last year in 2025 team finished in fourth place at 6-3 with an upset lost to Santa Fe 13-17 and losing 27-35 to Waco University in bi-district.
New FBM HC is Wale Okunnu a 36 year old first time HC and former DC at 6A Alief Taylor. MaxPrep listed 46 varsity players on the 2025 team. 22 graduated with 11 2026 seniors and 13 2026 juniors returning. 4O/ 2D starters return. Student Participation is on the low side.
FBM is 45-14 the last five years. FBM was known in the past for their dominating defenses. FBM defensive district PA per game has steadily risen from 3.5 PA in 2021, 9 PA in 2022, 8 PA in 2023, 17 PA in 2024, and 17 PA in 2025. FBM offensive district PF per game has slipped from 58 PF in 2021, 39 PF in 2022, 27 PF in 2023, 34 PF in 2024, and 26 PF in 2025. One reason for these trends is being in a district the last two years with Richmond Randle (31-1) and Iowa Colony (24-4). FBM has not been competitive in these district games. Losing to RR 6-51 in 2025 and 7-45 in 2024. Losing to IC 0-21 in 2025 and 21-35 in 2024.
FBM has made the playoffs the last five years. Lost in 2021 21-42 to Barbers Hill in bi-district, lost in 2022 21-29 to PNG in Regional Finals, lost in 2023 24-36 to Randle in bi-district, lost in 2024 21-31 to Iowa Colony in regional, lost in 2025 27-35 to Waco University in bi-district.
In 2025 FBM offense was centered around graduated senior QB #1 Kaeden Johnson. The QB accounted for ~70% FMB team scoring and FBM total team offensive output.
