2026 Tell of the Tape Thanks to Our Beloved Work Horse Running Back

[19PNGndn68]

According to PNG Alumni Podcast Tyson Henry has moved into third place of all time PNG rushers with 3995 yards behind 876 yards to second place Roschon Johnson and 1115 yards behind first place Gordon LeBoef.
Two remaining district games against 3-13 teams. A potential bi-district game against a 4th place District 10 West Fork at the reservation. A potential fourth area round game against FB Marshall.

1. Henry has played behind a rebuilt OL with 4 new Starters.
2. OL starters have revolved in and out through the season.
3. With running RPO QBs if the QB sees a gap he pulls the ball back and runs. If no gap seen by the QB then hands ball off to Henry to creat something in space. Not like seasons past with a non running Conner Bailey QB.
Production down to 640 yards. But yards per carry is still over 5 yards.
4. Henry has shared Rushes with Gohlke, Asworth, and Montgomery.
5. Blocking for others. Is a skill that has developed.
6. Henry set the second highest PNG kickoff record of 98 yards this season.
7. Team player that defers to the success of the Team.

Quietly becoming one of the best ever! i knew for a while that he was closing in on this record, but somehow it is just sinking in for me. Good times!

If he can dig down and find a way to gain 140 yards per game over the next 8 weeks, then that will go a long way to making it possible to reach week 16, winning SC #5, and breaking the record. Work harder to break tackles and never stop the leg drive. That worked for Nederland’s #10 last week when he was wrapped up. Personal records are not the priority mission, but if if helps the team reach the main objective, it’s a great complimentary goal.
