I keep telling folks nect season we will be stout. The running game and Blake's quick feet and strong passing ability will make for a very physically tough team next season. It will be different football than the last three years but good none the less

2019 will also add a district champ in the JV and Freshman teams and a group of 8th graders who also won district.

I’m already looking forward to next year. Yes. I’ll probably attend a few champ games according to who’s in. But basically the season is over for me.

Tough to process that the Indians are finished for the season. And that the R.J. era is over. It seems like yesterday that he started his first game, and we had two more years for incredible achievements ahead.

He and teammates did achieve much over the past three seasons.

And now we must look forward to some new blood, and a new outstanding QB at the helm.

Im a proud father not just because my son was part of the RJ era but part of the PNG era and has receiving records due to part of the RJ era. Proud to be part of PNG Football History forever. Proud to be a Indianfan and look forward to many more years. Proud of # 2 and # 12 for record breaking years.

Your son is one of the greatest athletes to ever play at PN-G and I need not tell you about the elite company he shares. Lets not just talk about football. I forget how many sports he was all district and all state. His graduating class was the winningest class in our 94-year history across all sports. Let that sink in a moment. That senior class brought the first state championship win since the 1980s and won more games than any other in our history. The 2017 class will go down in history as one of our greatest ever. I read people whining all the time about how bad we are at football or other sports-related gripes, but yet to see a single one of them recognize the greatness we have witnessed in the last 6-8 years. We have the best volleyball coach in Texas no joke. They have been t0 30+ straight playoff appearances. Our baseball is a good year in and year out. Softball is great as well. Our golf well that's a whole other level and discussion. PNG has a very bright future and with Coach Comeaux and Coach Faircloth at the helm, we could not be much brighter.

Thank you thank you thank you i didnt wanna be the only one to keep reminding our fans that 2017 was imo one of the best sports years in the History of PNG. I think PNG sports kinda got lost in the mix behind the RJ era and Football. We need to make sure and not to forget wat the 2017 class did for PNG sports. Thank you for recognizing my son has one of the best athletes in png History. Just a reminder he was All State as a receiver his jr and sr year he was All state as a forward in soccer as a jr and sr he was All states in Track and Field as a sr in High Jump . We won state in baseball , 3rd round in boys and girls soccer , 3rd round in football lossing to a team that won state , winnig district in volleyball, golf. Sofeball was awesome All state in Girls track in long jump it go's on and on lets not forget how good we were and how good we will be in the future. Its good to be us PNG sports is awesome.

So now let's see if the work ethic and determination of Blake Bost and teammates can match the example that Roschon Johnson set.

Hard work and preparation pays off. Repetition makes perfect. Let's do it!

2019 should be a good season for the Indians. Lots of returning starters and even more returning kids that did not necessarily start, but they had significant playing time in 2018. Add to that mix, a winning JV team, a winning FROSH team, and some talent from the JR-High level, and the Indians should keep things rolling in 2019. Blake Bost does not have to be Roschon Johnson. He just needs to be the best Blake Bost that he can be, use the talent around him, let his natural talents take over, and have fun. He has wheels and a solid arm. He will have tons of support from teammates, family, friends, and alumni. I hope he keeps a non-traditional QB number, e.g., 35 or 20 or 23 or 25, or whatever he likes. I like that funky number at the QB spot.

Good times for the Indians in 2018...more to come in 2019. The Indians have a winning culture with Coach Faircloth and all of the returning talent will keep things rolling.

Go Indians. Peace.

2019
Roschon Johnson set standards in 2018 that might never be matched again in Port Neches. But a consistent trend of great QB play will continue with junior to be Blake Bost. Bost will deliver accurate passing and capable running when needed.

At running back, D. Conner has the speed and strength to become the feature back that replaces the 130 yards per game rushing that RJ was delivering. Gavin Deslatte will also continue as a solid inside runner if he can avoid injuries.

With Wuenschel, Proenza, Nail, Pearson and other receivers back, the passing game will be solid.

The entire offensive line is back next year. Jaylen Garth will be the force that anchors that unit. Frequent visits to the weight room and cardio this winter and next spring will make a huge difference next year. If the offensive line meets that challenge, look for the Indians to be a better offensive unit in 2019.

An offensive line consisting of #74 Garth, #77 Dickerson, #79 Burt, #58 Lisauckis and #62 Callier would be formidable. All 6-2 250+ and with experience starting this season.

#50 Osbourne has great toughness and agility and might be a great flip to defense. John Nichols was an example of how that can be a great move.

Do the Indians do spring training? Any type of spring football? Purple v. White game? I would like to see a preview of the 2019 Indians. Lots of good vibes and chatter in the community about 2019 being a strong year. When did schools phase out spring football?

Go Indians. Peace.

I thought spring ball was given up for early fall practices.

We can begin speculating and talking!

Offense

QB - RJ is gone. As people have said, he was a once in a generation player who was ALMOST unstoppable. But losing a great one doesn't mean no more great QB play. Bost is a talent in his own right. From what little I saw his arm strength and accuracy are not a huge step down from Johnson, he may even be a more accurate passer. Bost is a different type of runner than Johnson, but is very capable of running the ball. He may not be the full threat that Johnson was, but with better help at RB, he doesn't need to be, and shouldn't be.

RB - Conner. Good size, fast and runs with some authority. He can potentially replace the yardage that RJ was piling up. Deslatte. Hard running, powerful runner with quick cuts. Can he return from injury and stay healthy? If he can, the Indians have a powerful 1-2 punch in the backfield.

OL - Jaylen Garth: Elite tackle who will dominate. Lisauckis: 3 year starter at center with potential to be very good this year. Burt and Dickerson: Big tackles who played as a sophomores. Great potential. Reyes: solid guard who was size challenged last season but is a strong kid. Osbourne: Size challenged at guard but a solid, aggressive blocker with great quickness and tenacity. Callier: I don't remember if he played last season. Overall, could be one of the best offensive lines PNG has had. Strength and fitness levels attained over the winter and summer will determine just how good they will be. Doesn't matter how big you are if you can't move.

WR - A good group led by Wuenschel. Proenza, Pearson and Nail all had flashes last season and will be a good group of targets. Pearson's a tall receiver who could be a big target over the middle.

I'm not familiar with anyone moving up from JV.

The offense lost an elite QB in Roschon Johnson, but overall this should be a better offensive team than the 2018 team. The yardage RJ was gaining will be spread out with a more balance attack including the RBs, the offensive line should be better, and the receiver talent should be there.

Thoughts?

Who wants to take a shot at predicting the defense?

Do we have any kids that play both ways? Is the coaching staff the same from last year? Sometimes assistant coaches get new opportunities at other programs to move up the chain of command. Are we keeping all of our coaches? Will PN-G be playing in the summer 7v7 leagues/tournament? Feels good to be discussing high school football again. So many questions about the 2019 season.

Go Indians. Peace.
