announcer and video screen questions

Ok after going to the Lamar game last night I was thinking about how the announcer would tell the fans to make some noise ! and they also had the video screen telling fans to get loud and make some noise.
Can a announcer do that at a high school game ? and can they put up GET LOUD ! or MAKE SOME NOISE ? or put up DEFENSE ? ETC.....

I was thinking about that last night in the stands. Thinking hey we should have that at our home games. If we could do that it would be great. The announcer could help in getting the crowd up and yelling ever more and use the video screen as well.

Also the music was great last night at Lamar. Wish we could play better music at our stadium.

Any thoughts ?

The announcer at the Alamodome would ask for the GP fans to make some noise and then ask the PNG fans to make some noise. The only thing it seems he would ask these questions when we had the ball.

Lamar's announcer and the scoreboard were both asking for noise while LU had the ball. The people around us were wondering what the deal was with that.

yeah they did do it while on offense. But they did it the most while the cards were on Defense. I just thought this would help to get the fans even more fired up ! On kick offs, defense, when the team comes out thru the run thru. I also wish we could get Bonzai back again. Just thinking of how much it would get the team pumped up during the game.

i love the way murdock does the play by play at our games.. he does not show bias and make comments on a good play of a certain player on the vistors team.. i think that shows class . as for as the scoreboard displaying a moral booster for the fans i am all for that.. but we have cheerleaders that should be doing that too.. many times the fans has to get the crowd fired up..

+1 On Murdock doing it right, the PA announcer should not be a biased like some clowns I have heard at away games.

I agree with the statements about Murdock. I am with you on the unbiased approach. We do however have this hugh screen that could be used to get the fans more fired up and get the team more pumped up.

We do our best to get the fans out of the seats and on their feet from where we sit on top and in the middle.. We stand for the entire game and yell all the time and I know there are those who physically can't do that but help from the scoreboard would be great. We need to use it to our best advantage. I think Mitch is doing as good job as announcer. In another 30+ years he will be almost as good as Tip....just joking of course. When you hear what other announcers say at the away games, it sure makes you proud to be an INDIAN. Our class and good sportsmanship stands tall. We really enjoyed the pregame music from John Anderson's Simonole Wind, etc. It set the stage for the pagentry on the reservation. Does anyone know to to talk to about getting that started again? When I asked Matt B about it he made a smartalec statement about talking to the "new" coach about it. Maybe someone could bring it up to the "chief of the tribe" at booster club meeting.

Does anyone have an update regarding the health of Mr. Durham? Good luck to the new announcer; big shoes to fill ... Mr. Durham set the bar high. Here's to the new announcer having fun and having a 50+ year career sitting in the press box.

Go Indians. Peace.
