Sorry to see this but happy for all good career moves. Best of luck to Elam and job well done. One of the best sports guys and anchor that SE Texas has had.

Print and tv sports coverage continues to decline with the loss of dedicated sports talent.

Yup, while I don't live in PN anymore, when I was in town on Friday's, I loved watching his show after the news. Good Luck to him ... I get it, career move/more money most likely and doing what is best for his family.

The days when the area had sportswriters like
John DeVillier, Larry Bodin, Bob West, Tom Halliburton, Burt Darden and others that I’m forgetting are a distant memory. At least we had consistent sports stories, stats and coverage even if a couple of those names tended to frustrate PNG fans. Sometimes we don’t know what we have until it’s gone.

I could not be more proud of our team and our community. The spirit here is unmatched! I am so lucky to be a part of it and to wear the purple and white! The journey of this football season, with these coaches and our players, will stay with me forever.  -- PN-G Head Coach Jeff Joseph
