Bears reportedly have policy of not providing info about injuries unless they are serious, so in the absence of inside info all we know is that it was not serious. Confirmed by the fact that he returned to practice a few days ago. Thanks for the info! Does anyone know what the undisclosed injury was which kept him out of camp was the 1st few days? HE was on the field with the trainers, just not practicing.
Also ran through 3 tackles and refused the 4th.Yes that 24 yard run wasn’t blocking it was all him being slippery as an eel
Did about as good or better than all of the other backs in terms of YPC. So although his overall performance does not stand out it is still impressive for a rookie seeing his first NFL action IMO. He also caught all of the passes he had any reasonable chance of catching. Hopefully he will get a chance to play with the 1s pretty soon and this will give the team a better look at what he is capable of.He had a good showing but did not necessarily stand out other than that 24 yard run. I hope he can really get in the groove next opportunity and make a strong claim on playing time.
Yeah....his first 5 t o 6 attempts were fairly good, but then he tapered off after that to give him a below 4 yd per carry average unfortunately....i don't know if it's fair to rate 3's vs 3's ... if the blocking isn't there, not much you can do in the pro's most of the time. What I found odd was that Ebner was playing in the 2nd Qtr, but he's behind RJ on the depth chart. He had a good showing but did not necessarily stand out other than that 24 yard run. Agree. What I meant was his performance didn’t remove all doubt about his ability. But like you said, that’s tough to do in the NFL and no other back stood out other than Khalil Herbert with that 56 yard td catch. He’s their leading rusher from last season who has not been a reliable pass option. Still the guy to beat out for lots of playing time.Did about as good or better than all of the other backs in terms of YPC. The Ebner deal puzzled me as well. My best guess is they wanted to give him a better chance to see if he is worth keeping around, whereas they already have big plans for RJ.Yeah....his first 5 t o 6 attempts were fairly good, but then he tapered off after that to give him a below 4 yd per carry average unfortunately....i don't know if it's fair to rate 3's vs 3's ... if the blocking isn't there, not much you can do in the pro's most of the time.
