Bi-District Opponent: Galena Park

What about all those passing tds.
That’s the third level that we all know needs lots of work. The next strong passing team will eat that up if no adjustments are made.

GP is going to run a lot so hoping the LBs can step it up this week. Different outcomes earlier in the season if that had been better.

I appreciate your football knowledge Chief. And my comments are not personally directed towards individual players although the players need to step up. But at the same time high school football is not flag or junior league so fans are going to be fans and talk about what can be improved. Coach Troy would have kicked any player in the a** if they needed some motivation. Ethridge would have sat them on the bench. Friday night lights is the big stage. Players have to play like there is no tomorrow.

No wonder there’s been so many passing tds against our defense. You guys are brilliant.
DB are a whole other issue! Very poor fundamentals and techniques !! When you play 10-15 yards off the line you completely loose touch with the WR and all
You do is chase!!

It looks like GP's defense has stepped up quite well over the past sevral games, with several shut outs. But then again, I don't know anything about their opponents either.

This thread is about the upcoming Galena Park game. A running team that tosses the ball 5 times a game on average. Strengthening the 2nd level of the defense and slowing the run going forward WOULD be brilliant.
That would require adding an extra body in the box and playing with a single safety. To bad that’s not what they’re gonna be doing. Maybe that’s plan B.

For the playoffs, are teams allowed to bring up players from the JV and freshman squads? If yes, are the Indians bringing anybody up?

An unofficial offensive comparison. Very high accuracy level on the numbers.

Even better would be the starting LBs being in position and tackling. If they don't then an extra man in the box will make little difference. I think we've now officially beat this dead horse out of his afterlife.

I know they had underclassmen playing last week. We had 2 huge Offensive Tackles. Someone said 74 was a Freshman and 65 I don’t know what class he was being they looked large.

When they have more hats in the box, unless your Superman, you won’t make any tackles either. You’ll get blocked out. We know they run. We should be using all available bodies to stop it. Sell out for the run, that’s what was done against vidor all those years. But like I said, that’s not what’s gonna happen. Hopefully the plan B mid game adjustment is.

Why do you think we will not play them like we did Vidor? Similar offensive scheme and we have generally had good success against Vidor.
