Great guy and if true will be sorely missed in the dugout.

Coach Stone resigning? That is a huge loss. He's one of the best in the state and has made PNG a power to be reckoned with every season.

Baseball has been the most consistent program at PN-G for a long time. That's a testimony to Coach Stone who is one of the best in the state. Tough, tough loss.

Who will take his place? Assistant coach or new hire?

As to who will replace him........I am sure the person who ran him off will bring in one of his own. Just have to wait and see but I feel sure I am right. PNG has lost one of the best coaches they ever had when Coach Stone resigned. I wish him the best, he deserves it.

This some what shocks me that he is leaving. I remember when i graduated that he was looking to move into an administration position as a principle. perhaps it was PNMS because it was right after Mr. Keith took the position as principal at the high school. If administration is where his heart is then the best of luck to him. Will be some big shoes to fill for sure.

Hey turn2 Why in the world would you infer that "someone ran him off"?That is a truly stupid statement. If you know Coach Stone at all, you would know that NO ONE could make Him leave, and that He would leave on His own terms. Quit trying to insinuate that there is some kind of conspiracy at hand, and realize that the man has other personal and professional goals he wants to attain.

Sorry turn2 I see that you were quoting someone else. My bad, I direct my earlier response to that person.

Wow. And people don't think there is an anti-Faircloth group out there.

Anyways,

Best of luck to Coach Stone.

Mr. cummings originally left coaching to become principal at Groves middle school (and this was several years before Coach Faircloth was hired). I believe he is now working in the Katy or Woodlands school district, or somewhere in the Houston area.

I know that he and his wife are moving to Katy, but I don't know if he's taking up a job in another district. I had heard from some of the teachers at the high school that he was retiring and just assumed that they were moving to the area to be around family.

I can completely understand Coach Stone's desires to move into administration. Much better pay and better retirement! I am sure if the GMS position is open now he sees this as his shot to stay within the district. Great move on his part. If this is all true I wish him the very best and am very glad that he is staying in the PNGISD and have faith that he will serve well as a Principal (I have one at GMS for one more year).

No, I am sure he is not related to Claude Stone. I knew both his mom and his dad well. My heart is heavy because we have lost the best baseball coach we've had (IMHO). I hope he gets the position he wants because it is a great move for the district as Jay does a good job at anything he does. Good luck, Jay!
