the ultimate complement is for asst coaches to move on to be Head Coaches.

The bad thing is it disrupts the team chemistry. During the run in the mid 70's we had the same thing with Nunez, Bush, Carswell, Davis etc...

The longer we go the harder it will be to make a 3-5 year run.

Agreed...it is a compliment to PN-GISD and the men and women serving on Coach Faircloth's staff. If Coach Cary gets the job at H-F, congratulations...many thanks for all your efforts at PN-GISD and for being an outstanding coach and mentor for the students of PN-G. When a school district gets cherry-picked, that says a lot of good things about what PN-GISD has going on inside its schools. Good coaches at other schools will want to come here and be a part of something special...knowing that if the Indians are successful, then they, too, will have an opportunity to move onward and upward. Kudos to Coach Faircloth for giving his assistants an opportunity to move up the career ladder. The task for Coach Faircloth is to find the next up-and-coming good coach that wants his/her opportunity at PN-GISD. All of that...I selfishly want Coach Cary to stay with PN-G...but if he gets the nod at H-F, wish him well.

Go Indians. Peace.

I think it's all about having the "Head Coach" title..so you can say you've done it etc so that you can move on to bigger and better things down the road. I hate to lose good coaches, but that's what happens when your successful.

didn't his wife come from HF?

I too believe that it's all about the Head Coach/AD position. If he turns it aroud - feather in his hat.

The guy that left HF came from Crosby, I believe.

Also, next year most 4A and lower classifications will have Asst coaches teach another period and only have 1 athletic period and 1 conference period instead of 2 athletic periods and a conference period. BF eluded to this n the paper when he said it is harder to match up coaches and teaching assignments than it used to be.

He may have wanted to stay out of the classroom?

The coach that left H-F was Don Price. He coached at Barbers Hill until 2010. He left for CE King.

I wasn't sure I just knew it was someone that came from a big program to HF then left for a bigger program. Had a U of A scout down yesterday.

How are things going at College? Glad to see your are staying involved

Good, thanks. Just grinding things out as the semester wraps up.

There was a UA scout in town? For football or another sport?

Coach Cary didn't get the HF job. I hope this isn't selfish sounding, but I'm glad we get to keep Coach Cary a while longer. Man is a awesome coach and a great person.

It is OK to be selfish...we want to keep all the great coaches we have for as long as possible...HF's loss is PN-G's continued gain...Coach Cary will be HC...another program will come after him because he is too good of a coach, he apparently wants to be a HC, and he is proven with successful OLs year after year...glad we get to keep him another season...sounds like our kids love him...having your coaching staff cherry-picked is a good problem to have...that means we are successful, and we are! We are PN-G. And, I'm glad our district gets to keep his wife as a PN-GISD teacher...might have lost her if Coach Cary went over to HF. Another plus for PN-G.

Go Indians. Peace.
