I agree totally. This was part of the past bond issue and is an example of another thing we voted for and did not get. If you are this upset, please go vote in the upcoming school board election. There are some people running who would do the right thing.turn2 said:WHAT A PATHETIC SITUATION.THE BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL FACILITIES ARE ALREADY THE POOREST IN THE DISTRICT AND NOW THIS.STONE AND HIS COACHES WORK THIER BUTTS OFF JUST TO MAINTAIN THE PLAYING PLAYING FIELD AND THE POOR GIRLS SOFTBALL HAS TO USE THE PORTA POTTIES FOR RESTROOMS.SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE.I BELIEVE PN-G BASEBALL HAS MADE THE PLAYOFFS 18 OF THE LAST 20 YEARS AND FOR THEM TO HAVE TO PLAY AND PRACTICE ON THESE FACILITIES IS HORRIBLE.

WELL LET THE FACTS BE KNOWN INSTEAD OF KEEPING IT UNDER WRAPS,IT IS EMBARRASSING WHEN YOU CAN'T EVEN BUY A DRINK AT A HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL GAME.Justafan said:squaw said:I agree totally. Before you go bitchin and complaining find out the facts. From what I was told the new construction would begin after baseball season. So before you start making statements find out the facts......geezzz
allstarmom said:I don't know if this is the reason, but I know for a fact that the people that work the concession stands for the basketball games haven't gotten paid and one that has worked concession stands for YEARS quit because of it. It is a shame not to get paid as promised.
You can bet Matt didn't have anything to do with this! We have active trustees who support contract labor in our school cafeterias and custodial services. I want PN and Groves citizens working in the school cafeterias and cleaning the schools. Sometimes it worth paying a little more to get the best and our students and schools deserve people who are committed to doing a bang-up job!allstarmom said:For whatever reason, the district started in November paying the concession workers (which most work as full-time employees within the district) as contract labor and paying them on a seperate check. What that means is they were considered self-employed and had to pay self-employment taxes. Add that to the fact that they didn't get paid for almost 6 months and you can understand why they were upset. However, MB must have heard all the complaints, because he said (I heard it from his mouth) that there would be concessions stands open starting tomorrow night and the workers would get paid on their regular check and taxes would be withheld.

That was the point I was making. Matt Burnett would never willingly agree to this. He and his family have a long history with PN and have a lot invested in the community and school district. It is embarrassing to the fans and parents that our facilities are being neglected. Not only the ball parks, but the school, grass, weeds, junk, etc.allstarmom said:Matt did not have anything to do with it. As the outdoor complex coordinator, he is supposed to work with the concession stand director, BUT there is no concession stand director, so he is the one that is trying to fix the problem. The contract labor fiasco came from the administration building.

2025 Season
I could not be more proud of our team and our community. The spirit here is unmatched! I am so lucky to be a part of it and to wear the purple and white! The journey of this football season, with these coaches and our players, will stay with me forever. -- PN-G Head Coach Jeff Joseph
