That's awesome, it's been quite a few years since an Indian has made the All-State team :woohoo:

Here it is! Loaded with NDN's as predicted! I was just kinda surprised Coach Faircloth didn't get Coach of the Year....but Crag Stump did an outstanding job too!

The 4-year drought is over. They're both added to the list. http://www.pngindians.com/sports/football/allstate

Surprised that Thompson didn't make it..he is a hoss. Glad to see DJ make it..he is a beast and was such a disruptive force for offenses to deal with. Congrats to all..it was well deserved and earned..Hard to believe Coach Faircloth wasn't coach of the year.. I guess some habits die hard(kissing TJ butt) for PA News. ;D

I agree Stump is a bogus selection. Anyone with a brain signal knows Faircloth was the most deserving coach.

Maybe a selection of both Coach Faircloth and Coach Stump was warranted? We all know what Coach Faircloth did for our Indians. But, it's hard to ignore what Coach Stump did at West Brook. Like Coach Faircloth, Coach Stump worked in a lot of young players, he beat North Shore, crushed most of the area competition, and had a deep run in the playoffs. Both coaches deserve recognition. Both PN-G and WB should be stout next year. The Indians return a really good QB, most of the OL, a strong group of WRs, some RBs with experience, most of the DL, and some young kids with Friday night experience on defense and special teams. I think 2010 will be a chance for the Indians to make a strong run in the playoffs. If we do not have injuries, it will be a fun ride in 2010. Here's to PN-G keeping the coaching staff in tact for 4 or 5 years ... if so, we could have a good run of district championships and playoff fun.

Go Indians. Peace.

But, in comparison, Stump didn't make near as much of an improvement as Faircloth did. Stump was good, but not a whole lot better than last yr. But, when you look at PNG;s changes, Faircloth wins hands down. No competition. PERIOD!

I totally agree with you, Proud!! Even friends from other districts were shocked! It is obvious that Coach Faircloth should have been the Coach of the Year. The paper stated it was because WB went deeper in the playoffs, but they "recognized" Coach Faircloth. What a crock!! Being a new coach with a new offense and going undefeated in our district was an amazing accomplishment. Oh, well, this is just more of PNG Envy which we've always had to endure.

I would have to agree. In most years Stumps coaching job this season would be considered best in the area, but that is only because you don't see a first year Head Coach at 31 years of age, turn a 3-6 team around into an 11-1 District Champion who lost in a nail biter to the eventual State Runner Up very often.

Don't forget, this is the Beaumont Surprise we're talking about here. You know our players that made it, more than deserved it or they would not have overcome the odds. If we were the Beaumont Indians, the whole team would have probably made it.

And we wouldn't be getting an education worth squat....

About 5 years ago, the state looked at imposing a 200 square mile minimum on school districts. You were almost part of Jefferson County Consolidated Independent School District. Of course, the whole Independent part would have been a total joke. The next move, after consolidating districts, would have been to integrate. Not that integration is a bad thing, but many of you who are currently at PN-G would have been shipped to Port Arthur and Beaumont schools. Let's face it, y'all are in a Mid-County school instead of one of those schools for a reason, and it has nothing to do with race. Integration would have been the excuse to clear you out and make room for the others. Ok, off my soap box now. :flaming:
