PNG is in control. Gotta get Dayton, i just watched the entire Dayton game. They will have quite a bit of a size disadvantage playing PNG. Also they are not very dynamic on offense. I believe our defense will feast on them.

We got in their heads
I’m telling you right now
There’s in fighting within the team (pointing fingers)
That type of team implodes when there’s trouble
They thrive on the “celebration” of it all

If there’s no patting themselves on the back it HAS to be finger pointing that’s just how that mindset is.

We had several breakdowns in coverage today against FBW. How good is Dayton's passing game?

190 rushing per game

Dayton and Nederland are both capable of beating PN-G. Didn’t think that would be the case but the performance against Willowridge might indicate the Indians are not as prepared as they could be. A big part of that is the QB transition and loss of the top offensive threat. They should have steamrolled FBW and not given up those long plays. So focus might be shoring up the defensive play before next week. Dayton and Nederland are much potent offensively and will be tough games.

I reached virtually the same conclusions in the PNG vs FBWR thread, with one of the main differences being that I also think that some of the problems against FBWR involved an emotional letdown after the preceding two games. In any case, we cannot afford similar letdowns against Dayton or Nederland.

It was a combination of things vs. FBW. Saturday game on the road at 1:00 p.m., it was windy at times, 15-18 year old kids can't be expected to play perfect games, playing down to your competition is human nature, FBW played better than expected (the FBW coaches get paid, too), and I'm probably missing some things. Lots of things to clean up and improve on, but overall it was a game where PN-G did not play as well as they could have and the Indians still WON the game 38-20. I think this PN-G team is more like what we saw against FBM and @ TC vs. what we saw @ FBW. Things just seemed a step or two off today. That's OK. A win is a win. It's never easy to win on the road. Playing through some adversity is a good lesson to learn.

I didn't see any injuries, so that always a good thing. Bring on Dayton, Santa Fe, Nederland, and Galena Park. I have confidence in this group of PN-G Indians. I have a feeling PN-G will be fired up to play @ Dayton and @ Nederland.

Saturday was a rough time for a lot of teams. Texas and Texas A&M would have enjoyed a 38-20 win in their games.

Other than a few fundamental breakdowns that led to big plays by FBW, and stopped PN-G offensive drives, there was no question of who was in control of that game.
