So a trip to TXK or Marshall
Even though Texas High Marshall was a 1 pt game THS is way more dangerous than Marshall
I do think 5 teams in our district could beat either (we ll find out)
Also if Nederland wins they get first - lose
FOURTH and a trip up to the END of 59 (literally) (stadium isn’t on 59 but close)

Why has Dayton fallen so far in terms of competitiveness?

Just looking at motivation for Dayton vs PNG.
Dayton can not go any higher or lower in the standings if they win or lose but they can be a "spoiler".
PNG is playing for the chance to be district champion if Montgomery wins. Big if according to predictions.
It's likely to be a wet game so if by some crazy chance we lose then we will likely be the 4th seed.
We have more to lose and must ensure our win. Run game will be crucial in wet weather. Dayton likes to pass so they may be limited to run game.

Why has Dayton fallen so far in terms of competitivenes

Remember that year they had those two super tall twins (DE) that was the first year of their decline (they were good players though)
They had a monster O Lineman but the rest was mediocre not bad
I’m trying to remember more
As far as details I’m unaware of anything
Seems like the HS had some disciplinary issues I’m trying to jog my memory one of the locals told me something don’t get me to Lyin’ there was something I believe
Similar to the PNG baseball scandal etc (which we won state a year or two later lol)
I’m sure this is a rambling mess lol

This is just looking at the Dayton only motivation.
Our loss is too unthinkable and would shake up the district and playoffs.
