Any word on where this game will be next year.

I have heard we may be back in SA!

It wouldn't suprise me...DC folks loved the PNG crowd last year. Said it was the best they had ever had for the Classic.

If I understood correctly, BF said at the last BC meeting that the game was gonna be held in Rosenburg. But, as we all know, those plans can change

With crowd turnout we had at the Alamodome, it wouldn't surprise me if PNG is asked to play again next year. Would be nice to have it in Houston at Reliant though.

2 things the Alamodome game is a 1 season thing and for the GP game next season they will have to face us with a new coach theirs retired at the end of this season.

The Texas Football Classic sponsored by Dave Campbells magazine is an annual game that is agrred upon in the early part of the year. In other words, yes last year was a one year contract to play in it, but DCM could very well ask for a repeat of PNG/GP.

Had lots of fun in SA, but wouldn't mind this game being played in or around HTown.

Yes George Harris has finally retired after 51 years of coaching. The game will be at Rosenburg this year and GP will be bringing on a new HC/AD. Hopefully GP can go the way that PNG did previously and hire the Def. Coordinator at Westlake Matt Anastasio. Matt graduated from GP in 1990, attended and played for Hardin-Simmons with Darren Allman, coached at numerous schools, went with Darren and Brandon to Odessa Permian, then to Westlake. If we in fact hire Matt, next years game will be the first time that Brandon and Matt have actually coached against each other, and that would be a Classic in itself.GP has recieved
quite a few applications from some very qualified applicants and the deadline of Jan. 14th is quickly approaching. Hopefully the selection committee can bring the top canidates list down to 4-5 and select the next HC/AD before the end of Jan. My recommendation has already been sent in and it"s for Matt Anastasio.Matt will also be a defensive asst in the Team USA game in early Feb.
