Indians vs Marshall Buffalo: Game Discussion

#7 for FBM needs to learn to play without taunting and talking. Learn to play with class young man. Win with class and lose with class.

I predict A&M Consolidated will take out FBM in region 3.

If I remember correctly, A&M Consolidated displayed good sportsmanship when they beat us back in the 2016 playoffs. So I'll most likely be rooting for them.

Went to the game last night in Sugar Land...missed participating on the message board. The Indians played to the best of their abilities. FBM was the better team. The Buffs had speed, speed, and more speed. #5 was a HUGE difference maker for them. He is a D-1 talent for any college team in the country (thanks for that assessment Captain Obvious!). Good season Indians. I am proud of you. Looking at the game program last night, PN-G has a ton of returning kids. There should be several more Ws for PN-G in 2020. Thanks for a good 2019 season.

Go Indians. Peace.

Listened to the game last night and watched it this morning. FBM simply had 2 players on offense much faster than anyone we have on D. Pretty even teams otherwise.

I thought the D played well despite the 48 points. Achane is pretty much unstoppable once he gets to the 2nd level. The O line blocked well except for the 2 sacks that resulted in fumbles. And we ran the ball against a good defensive front. The better team won for sure, but it was closer than the score indicates. The 1st half could have easily ended in a 14-14 tie and I thought we were still in the game through most of the 3rd quarter. Kept hoping we would tie or go ahead and see how they reacted. Front runners don't always perform well when they get frustrated or their confidence is tested.

The 2019 team displayed a lot of grit and determination again. Best defense in several years. Never gave up - well done.

Spot on. Closest 34 point loss I’ve ever seen. S lot of good players on this team.

Bogus call on the Indians first drive of the 3rd quarter. The interception by Marshal in the first half should have been called differently. It should have been ruled an incomplete pass.

The Marshall defender was fully out of bounds and reached back in to catch the ball. He had not reestablished himself inbounds. The official even threw his hat down on the field on the play which indicates that a player came back in bounds, but they waived it off.

It probably would not have changed the outcome and is irrelevant at this point other than it was a bad call that puts an int on Bost's state sheet. But it did shift momentum and give Marshall an easy follow up TD to make it 28-7.

Notes: A defender is also a potential receiver on any pass play. Reestablishing means placing both feet back in bounds

Rule:
"It is a foul for illegal touching if a forward pass first touches or is caught by an eligible receiver who has gone out of bounds (either by his own volition or by being legally forced out) and has re-established himself inbounds."

That happened directly in front of my seats. I was at the 45 yard line. The Indian coaching staff went ballistic after that call. I'm not sure what the explanation was for allowing the INT, but as the play happened live, it was a terrible call. It was not 4th down. As I recall it was 3rd down. So, calling an incomplete pass would have allowed the Indians to punt. Instead, FBM had a short field for a quick 6. Any explanation on the TV broadcast or radio about that play? At that point in the game, it was only a 14-point difference. Who knows what may have happened if PN-G had the ball for another play? Maybe the outcome would have been same, but then again, maybe not. PN-G moved the ball. The Indians just could not cash in the drives for points. Any explanation for that call?

Go Indians. Peace.

Announcers on Texanlive mentioned that the hat being thrown down usually means what I described above. But they didn't say a lot about it after that.

Obviously the officiating was questionable.

I'll just say that FB-M knew they were in a fight. PN-G played them much tougher than the score indicated,
