Is McDougle (sp?) still coach at Humble?

We plan on going to Central vs. Humble game Friday and sit on the Central side because they are in our district. Then, someone told me that Humble is coached by a PNG ex- Dougle McDougle (SP?). Dougle played ball for the Indians on the 75 State Championship team and graduated from PNG in 1976. Awesome linebacker for the Indians. I didn't even realize he was a coach. Does anyone know if he is still there for sure?

He's at Kingwood, not Humble High School. He's the coach of the Kingwood Mustangs, not the Humble High Wildcats. You will not see him at Central v. Humble unless he is there as a fan. Kingwood finished the season at 3-8 ... made the playoffs because their district is weak and 4 teams get in. Kingwood is behind in the times ... the Mustangs run, run, run, run, run, run, etc. You can stack the line of scrimmage with 11 kids and Kingwood will try to run the option. They love the fullback dive for 0 yards. They have not figured out that the forward pass is allowed under the rules of Texas high school football. They are a basketball school. Humble High is similar to Central ... balanced offense and pretty strong on defense. That should be a good game.

Go Indians. Peace.

they probably run because that's what Dougle did at PNG and LU. He may be, in your opinion, behind the times but he has been a head coach many years. I played 2ND string behind him in the 10Th grade and he would take your head off. One of the nicest guys I have ever known. Squaw's son can tell you about him. He is very intelligent so he can figure out anything he wants to may just choose to run that offense.

If so, then it's a bad choice. 3-8 is not good. His talent pool has taken a few hits with new schools opening in Humble and Atascocita (Kingwood Park and Summer Creek), but most successful schools at the 5A and 4A level can run and throw well. I'm not saying everyone needs to run the spread, but you need to be able to throw the ball to take some pressure off the running game. Balance is doable. I've seen Kingwood play approx. 8 times in the past 3 years due to my wife having a relative in the program (8th, 9th, and 10th) ... all they do is run, run, run, run, and run some more. I'm sure he's a nice guy and was a good player for PN-G. I'm not questioning his intelligence or debating whether he is a MENSA candidate. They run, run, run, run, and run. It's a great basketball school. Tons of kids in the BB program. My nephew does not play basketball ... and he is a soph OL so he loves run blocking, but, I'd like to see him pass block, too. Nice facilities ... my nephew says there are lots of good kids at KHS, good teachers, excellent academics, a decent fan base, and a good place to go to school. They just run, run, run, run, run, ... you get the picture. If that is what they chose at KHS, alrighty. The forward pass is legal ... watch the playoffs.

And, for perspective, my step-son plays at Reagan HS in HISD ... all they do is run, run, run, run, run, too. It could be 3rd and 40 and they would run a draw. It could be 4th and 10 with less than 5 seconds left from the mid-field stripe and you will not see a hail mary, you'll see a draw.

We are lucky at PN-G. We have a coach that develops players and balance.

Go Indians. Peace.

I know where 1989ndn is coming from, however he should remember the teams from the 70s were run, run, run and only threw periodically to loosen up the defense. Dougle IS a fine young man.

I agree, it is a bad choice by Dougle and I can't for the life of me figure why he and Matt did not change. I know and like both of these guys but it seems as though the game has passed them by.

We are very lucky to have BF and a staff of their caliber. My hats off to the Board for the choice.
