And, I'm curious. Does it bother anyone that Angel missed a school game for a "select" team who is NOT associated with UIL or our school district?

I think it was also a show case for possibly going to college or the pro level. What I heard, but thats just a rumor.

You cant blame a kid for wanting to better their future. That's what high school is really about, sports included.

Does it really matter Micah did a heck of a job Friday night.

Why do people always have to find something to complain about?

I agree. Angel is trying to get a scholarship and soccer, not football, is his ticket. I am sure he had Coach Faircloth's blessing. The last thing we need to do is alienate soccer kids who can help us in the kicking game.

Angel's a big part of our soccer team. He's contributed more than his fair share to our athletic department, through both the soccer team and his role on the football team. If he needs to miss a game to get some college interest, then by all means, go for it. Micah did a good job in his place.

Good luck to Angel. He has represented PN-G well in both football and soccer. He should take advantage of any oppurtunity he receives to further his education in college. The game he missed was not critical, and as has been stated in this forum earlier, the replacement kicker did a great job. I applaud the coaching staff for supporting him and allowing him to go to this soccer tournament. Maybe this will lead to a scholarship, or some type of financial help for him as he pursues his future after high school.

A high school head coach that supports kids in other sports is a good thing. Maybe other soccer kids, or basketball kids, or baseball kids will see that you can do more than just 1 sport and we'll have more kids out for football next season. More soccer kids in the football program means more kickers and punters...that is a good thing.

Good luck to Valencia pursuing a soccer scholarship. Hope you are back for the playoff warpath. Great job by the back-up kicker vs. Central.

Anything we can do to get more kids out for football = GREAT.

I wasn't complaining. I heard others the other night voicing opinions and all I did was ask for opinion. You seem to have trouble with reading comprehension. BTW, the News stated that tickets for the game at the Butch are going on sale Tuesday. If you trying reading the words in the News out loud, you will understand better.

Yes, you were complaining since it bothered you so much.

I have given you the benefit of the doubt in past posts and didn't believe it when my friends said you were a bully. You have proven me wrong. No need for you to respond I won't be reading anything you write.

Playing Central was an insignificant game. I'm sure if it meant whether we were going to the playoffs or not I'm sure Faircloth would have wanted him on the field.

I would have to say, if he on the field kicking Sat., it was ok with BF

If it's ok with BF then it should be ok with all. I todays world I would agree to give a student/athlete a pass to enable them to showcase their talent for scouts that may offer, based on that performance, a scholarship.

Either way all paying customers are entitled to their opinion.

Coach said he knew where Angel was, he gave Angel permission to go, and is hoping Angel gets that soccer scholarship, and barring any injuries, Angel will be back Saturday. Football is a team sport, Micah stepped up nicely, and the TEAM won the game.
