JV loses to Lumberton JV 28-30

This game was lost from the start. THose fans at the game know why. In all my years as a player, parent and fan I have never seen a officiated game called so one sided. I think everytime we got into the red zone a flag was on the ground. Also Lumberton's kick off return man has one kicked over his head, he slips, picks up the ball with his knee on the ground on their own 1 yard line. THe refs never called him down and he bounces off for a TD. The late hit on our QB while out of bounds which put him out of the game for the night, no call. Lumberton clipping and chop blocking on kick offs, no calls, they were holding all night, no calls, several face mask, no calls except one, and it was delayed by almost 5-10 seconds. Just a terrible game for the JV with the refs. I'm not trying to make an excuse for their loss, but come on, the refs kept lumberton in the game for the most part. Lumberton did run a successfull student body left or right sweep. WE had some bad decisions on the field by the QB for intentional grounding, but in this Dad's opinion the refs helped Lumberton win this game. If they had called the game fair, our JV would have one by 1-2 TD's.

Kuddo's to our JV you played good ball and had to battle not on Lumberton but the Refs as well.

Don't let this get you down, come out fired up next week and start your winning streak over again !

jv still shouldve won that game.we averaged 10+ yards per carry and didnt run it once in that final drive.had the ball at midfield with two timeouts and two minutes on the clock.lumberton had 4 defenders 15 yards off the ball.love the jv coaches but even the grandma's were yelling run the ball.on a positive note 3 of the jv's best were moved up to varsity or atleast they werent playing defense last night.got to give props to to the coaches for getting all the kids in a very close game.lumberton had maybe 30 kids on jv versus our 65 or 70.tough thing to do.

I heard the Peveto kid was moved up. Haven't seen him, but was told by a player that he is a Sophomore and 6'3" 200 pound range and plays Safety???
Also understood he would play tonight.

Can anyone else confirm this?

I believe he has been ruled inelgible to play on the varsity this season by the UIL. they said he transferred for athletic reason's. He would have been on the varsity from the start if he would have been elgible.

I, also, heard he is one of 3 moved up and I know that he is practicing with the varsity.

If he was not able to play on varsity i seriously doubt the coaches would move him up and deny him the opportunity to play games

To be eligible, Peveto only had to sit out 2 calendar weeks from varsity and he has done that.

Peveto was ruled eligible by the UIL and was moved up to varsity this week along with Grantham and a couple of others. We really missed them last night, but once the kids on JV have a little more time to adjust to their new positions, we'll be fine, still lots of talent there.

I like reading that statement ... the more boys that can play at the FROSH and JV levels, the better. More numbers in the talent pool is a good thing. I hope the new JV starters and the ones there that have logged a lot playing time already continue to work hard ... play hard and fast ... get better ... and keep collecting wins ... when you win at the FROSH and JV levels, it becomes a habit and expectation at the Varsity level ... all of them will have time under the Friday night lights in the coming seasons and we need all the polished talent we can get. This is good news from TheBoysMom ... let those young men adjust, get better, and keep on winning. :)

Go Indians. Peace.

i have not seen a JV game this year...is Peveto the boy that transfered from Orangefield and is he really that good???

he is the kid from Orangefield. He has been at the school since spring break, so he knows what the coach expects out of him. Great kid on and off the field. Tall and fast. Hopefully, tonight he will get to play some and show his talents. I hope 1st time Varsity jitters don't get the best of him.
