Morse is a very good HS QB and I hope he has another 6 games to play for PN-G in 2015. I would imagine he has set the single season and career passing TD records. His 30 TDs this year plus his 29 or 30 from last year give him 59 or 60. D. Long had 56 TDs 1997-1999. The single season and career passing yards marks are still held by D. Long, too (3130 in 1999; 6173 during 1997-1999). Morse would need a big playoff push to get the single season and career passing records.

The interesting thing is I keep hearing the FR QB may take over the reigns for the next three years and he might break all of the records. I've never seen him play, but if that chatter is true, then the next several years of PN-G football will be good.

Go Indians. Peace.

Here are a few of the records Morse has set:

Most Passes Completed, Single Game - 34
Most Passing Yardage, Single Game - 384
Most Touchdown Passes, Single Game - 6 (tied w\Long)
Highest average yards passed per game (2014 season) - 263.7
Most Touchdowns, Season - 31 (likely to be surpassed this season)
Career Completions - 425 (and still counting)
Career Touchdown Passes - 61 (and counting)

BUT, none of this matters going forward. Let's hope Morse will continue to play on a record setting level in the 2015 playoffs. And lets recognize that the entire offensive team can take credit for these records. It takes a team to move the ball (block, catch, run).

I think the freshmans ability to run would damper him breaking passing records

Different era. Long was handing off to 2 RBs who gained over 2,700 years between them. And he rushed for 600 yards.

The Fairclorh era has had its share of record setting backs. Harmon and Bertrand both surpassed 1800 yards, and Halfin nearly 1300 yards. It's more about the current talent, backs and linemen, than the era.

yes, there are records broken.

I am looking forward to several consecutive years of playoff runs and beating Ned, care less about records.

As I have said before - with the exception of BFs 1st year - it has been fairly uneventful in terms of playoff success, District Championships and beating Nederland.

Our kids still have the best HS football experience in the state. I feel bad for them it that the pressure is on them to go far this year with this group of seniors that have been at the top in most every sport since the 8th grade.

All eyes are on them to "bring home the gold" so to speak.

good luck and much success!!!

These numbers are not official, but Morse would currently be at about 5,884 yards and counting.
He passed for 488 yards his sophomore season, 2,900 as a junior, and 2,496 so far this season.

The all-time record for career total yards is Dustin Long with 6,173.

With a couple more good passing performances, he can surpass Long for the best season total as well.

Top 10 - Most Passing Yards, Season

Yards, Name, Games, Avg., Season
3087, Dustin Long, 16, 192.9, 1999
2900, Adam Morse, 11, 263.7, 2014
2868, Brennan Doty, 13, 220.6, 2010
2496, Adam Morse, 11, 226.9, 2015 * Active season
2243, Travis Miller, 11, 203.9, 2011
2168, Dustin Long, 11, 197.1, 1998
2128, Ky Walker, 11, 193.5, 2013
1920, Brennan Doty, 12, 160.0, 2009
1689, Jay Musser, 11 , 153.5, 1992
1682, Richy Ethridge, 15, 112.1, 1975

But these are just talking points that illustrate what a great QB Indian fans are witnessing play. I bet Morse would turn the records in for a state championship chance. If Morse continues to play the season out as he played against Dayton and takes these Indian's deep, he will go into the books as the best ever at PN-G.

He also holds the record for most points scored in a game with his 240 points (40 total TD) from last year...hopefully he will continue and pass it this year too

That total point record is questionable in my mind. Unless it's a rushing TD by the QB, the receivers get credit for scoring the TDs, not the QB. The QBs stat is TD passes thrown.

I still find the 2-3 people that get on this message board and spout out negativity very funny. They make sly comments and apparently think everyone cannot see right through them for what they are obviously trying to do...stir the pot. Keep it up. Like I said, it's amusing for the masses!
