Sad ... no more will we hear in that distinctive Tip Durham voice, “Bonsoir, mes amies. Laiseez les bon temps roulette.” He taught me 8th grade American History at Groves Jr. High. Super man, teacher, announcer, and a hell of a guitar player. I always enjoyed when he broke out his guitar during American History and sang a short tune or during study hall when no one would be quiet, so he would play a few short tunes, e.g., Big John, The Battle of 1812, The Legend of Davy Crockett, or a C&W tune. I don't remember much about American History or what I did in study hall, but I remember Tip Durham, his purple shirts and purple boots. RIP.

Someone else said it best, "A PN-G Legend." I wonder if the Lord welcomed him to the great beyond by saying, "Bonsoir mi ami. Laiseez les bon temps roulette"?

Go Indians. Peace.
