Its about time this happened. They have an excellent program over there. Look forward to this. I work Friday night so it will be a great oppotunity to test it out

You can go to the NDN facebook age and view a recorded Q&A session about the football live streams.

"NDN Press will livestream the games on our YouTube channel. It will be sent out by private, unlisted link that we will post on Facebook on the day of each game."
-- NDN Press

Mr. Tobias also mentioned that the live stream link will be posted on Twitter and the high school web site.

Unless they use some form of controlled authentication and authorization, I don’t see how limiting the link can work. Anyone can go to the Facebook, Twitter or district site and find the published link.

I would just disable live stream commenting and focus on calling the game. That’s a very difficult thing to manage anyway.

Totally true
And — it’s just words
Only words but also a window into spiteful, hateful, illogical minds that are better untolerated. PNG fans don’t want to read that garbage and young people don’t need to see it either. Of course only speaking of the bad, or intolerant apples. The positive is fans all over the planet can leave good words.

One idea is YouTube has the concept of live stream moderators that can be assigned to read and approve messages. Or at a minimum delete any ridiculous stuff immediately.

Will someone please post where to go on the school website to find the link? Don’t have Facebook or Twitter account and don’t want one. Tried browsing pngisd website and discovered that I have no idea where to look.

Just fyi on the difficulties of live streaming. Even PPV events that charge $$ often crash. When they do it requires a new stream start. The PNG media team is doing a great job and just need to figure out the technical failures when they occur. Sometimes connectivity is poor and can't handle it. Technology is far from perfect.

True. Plenty of problems on Texanlive, even after many years of operation. The audio webcast has also had it’s share of problems over the years. If they can at least keep the whole website from crashing too often (which should be possible), I will be overjoyed and not too concerned about minor glitches that seem to occur relatively frequently with many similar streaming platforms. Overall it is a great development for PNG fans as well as being a great opportunity for the students and faculty involved with the broadcasts.

Our Yoga studio invested in a $40k dedicated fiber optic line and we still crash etc
My request to NDN press is try to have the complete game recorded so we can watch it completely later
Overall I’m super glad it’s a possibility because seeing the team even for a few downs gives you a completely different feel for what’s going on
Keep it up

And
It’s a very helpless feeling having students email and text saying it’s down but we have no idea what the issue is
Sometimes we have it saying it’s good on our end etc etc
We’ve been working on it since BEFORE Covid (thank god we would have been put out of business if not)

Technology is far from perfect, never will be and knowledge is evolving. But as long as humans are involved in the design and creation of anything, including AI, it will be flawed and biased.
