Wow ... my rally cap really does work. Nothing like a rally cap W.

Indians are 2-2 in District ... we must beat LC-M on homecoming to keep those playoff hopes alive. If we can survive LC-M and beat Vidor, then we can have another slobber knocker with Central. Our playoff run started last week vs. Lumberton ... we survived Ozen ... now we've got to keep that momentum going vs. LC-M. The Bears will be very tough to beat, but the Indians can do it.

BTW ... Doty was throwing laser darts during the OT. Big time throws and catches by the Indians. Nice job by the secondary on that final play. Big time play.

Go Indians. Peace.

Good Morning All,
I've been to this site a thousand times and only recently became a member for the simple fact that I wanted to thank all the posters here on this site. i am currently working in Iraq and have been here for just under 20 months. Being a PN-G Grad and football player i have always tried to keep up with the team since i graduated (83). The last game i was able to attend was Mid-County Madness in 2008 (which was awesome other than the fact that Ned won) and have not seen the new stadium other than posted pictures. I am currently 8 hours ahead of you guys back home and have found myself coming into the office often at 3:00, 3:30 and 4:00am to read the posts and keep up on the games as they are happening. Streaming video is hit and miss here so watching the game is pretty much out of the question. Thanks to all of you who post highlites during the game for us PN-G faithful who like to keep up with our Indians in real time. My time here is short and my hopes are that i will be home in time for some post season playoff games so come on Indians.....!!! LET'S DO THIS !!!!......I've got some catching up to do!!!!!!! God bless you all!!!!!!!

Glad to have you here. If I had known you couldn't stream the video I would have posted more updates. We'll keep that in mind from here out.

Thanks for serving our country.

This game brought an amazing end to an otherwise disappointing day. The last few seconds of the game were intense. Although it was a bit scary for a moment, this was in my opinion the best game so far this season.

Yea Bandkid I agree best game so far!Just me but defense is waiting on the runners allowing a move or a juke just enough to get by the defense. Have allways heard to concentrate on the runners number. Anyway great team effort and great team spirit Indians!

For you that may have missed it (I did until I found out at the Booster Club Meeting). The 2-point conversion pass by Ozen in the 1st OT period was caught by the center (#35) who was not eligible to catch a pass. We won anyway but what a big shame if we would have been beat by a illegal pass.

Personally I think the refs at this game were awful. If what you said is true (and I have no reason to doubt you), it should have been evident to the officials. I think they were either new at their jobs, so confused or bound and determined that Ozen was to be the winner of that game. I'm sure that Ozen has not forgotten the game several years ago at Lamar when we won.

Coach said the refs were from the Beaumont chapter and was suppose to be one of the best teams. On the 2-point conversion we made and then they didn't allow, the ref said we hiked it too soon even though the play clock was running. Go figure.

If those refs were the best then I would hate to see the worst. They were horrible.

Okay I generally try to stay positive......but just can't on this one. I have about bit my tongue in half! These have to be the worst referees ever!!! I try to learn more about the rules every game - especially when the really odd plays and rules come out that we don't see that often. However when I see the flagrant stupidity and oversight - going both ways - it's got to be horrible. I was ready to crawl out of my skin Friday night!

For those of you who would know - don't these guys have to be trained or certified or something? Isn't there a way for those who oversee the ref's to review this tape and see how badly they performed? These guys got paid for this? Time to go back to 101 referee training....or maybe remedial ed?

AHHHHHH :flaming: :flaming:

I know that officiating is a difficult and thankless job, but you must give your best effort every game--just like the players from the two teams that are competeing against each other. The crew of officials Sat. night seemed confused and uncertain on many occasions.I hope we have a better prepared officiating crew this Fri.

To answer your question Proud Band Mom, No. Hish School Football officials don't take any classes or attend regular camps. They start out with the book and spend the first several years doing pop warner, Middle School and underclass games and either work the chains or, and get this after the issues Saturday night with the clock operator, they run the playclock. Yes, that's right, Saturday night the yayhoo in the pressbox running the clock was a future friday night crew member. Since the experienced crew members work with the new officials in the underclass games, they get to watch them progress to the point where they eventually are asked to be a part of a crew. This is how it was done 10 years ago, not sure that it has changed much.

The biggest issue today, I think is that there are less and less folks joining. Thus guys with very little experience at all are ending up on crews way to early. Again that is my opinion based on what I have heard from guys that are still in it. I officiated for a couple of seasons and worked up pretty quick, actually was asked to work the field for a friday night game late in my first year and some in my second year, before I decided I enjoyed it more from my seats at The Reservation! Couldn't see many PNG games as an official.

Most of these guys are in it for the right reasons, but not all spend the extra time going to camps and learning. One of the guys that started when I did in '97, Mike Defee, is now a Referee (has his own crew) in the Big 12.

I have a son who officiates BaseBall. He has been doing it for about 4 years now. He had to start out in the little league arena first. He went to alot of meetings and attended several training classes put on by the local officiating association. He has asked officials with alot of experience to critique his games and point out the area's he needs to work on. When they give him his critique he uses it to be a better official. He has worked his way up to the High school level and has been asked to attend a professional ref school in Florida. THis will give him alot of the training he needs to move on to college level and possibly the pro level. Now I say this, to say this, if you want to be a good official you have to STUDY THE RULE BOOK !!!!!!!!!!!! GO TO SOME CLASSES AND GO TO TRAINING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
