Given that the PA News doesn’t have a current sports editor, any idea if this will be released this year?

Also wondering if the Beaumont Enterprise Super Gold football team has been released. All I’ve seen so far is coach of the year awards and a few individual awards in different sports.

Looks like the enterprise guy(s) may have been more impressed by number of or level of college offers versus whatever else. It’s all subjective anyway. Everyone has an opinion, there is no authority on the matter.

On that note, I have noticed the coaches doing everything they can on social media to elevate the highlight reels of our seniors and attract scholarship attention. It's a pleasure to see.

If the Indians had started the season more effectively, and been more consistent in the passing game, Crippen, Prosperie and Guarnere might have received more accolades. But it was a new system, new coaches and some new starters.

Same with defense.

The fact that Shea Adams had 31 Touchdowns this season and didn't make the Super Gold Team blows my mind.

Good point with regard to the slow start. However, in my view it should be based on how you finish rather than how you start. I do agree that the lack of consistency in the passing game was a big problem, as we would have probably come back with the trophy if it had been more consistent (in spite of our mistakes in the SC game). However, even if I accepted that as adequate justification (which I don’t), I think Wynn and Adams are both deserving of accolades. And the idea of having only one player on first or second team defense is incomprehensible.

Totally agree. And I had not even considered how ridiculous leaving Adams off that list is.
I just meant all doubt of Crippen and the offensive group would have been removed if they’d been able to perform like last season. Crippen throwing for 3500-4000 yards and 35-40 TDs would have matched last seasons passing attack (factoring in 3 extra games) and removed any doubt. Bmt Enterprise has to appease a broad area of readers. And their opinions will always reflect that. And PA News will always cater to Port Arthur.

The Super Team has always been revealed around Christmas week. Nothing this year. Or if it was announced in print, it wasn't published online. Local sports coverage is struggling to maintain past standards.
