3Q...PN-G with the bomb to #80. The PN-G QB has made some beautiful throws tonight. When he has time, he can sling it and his long ball has a beautiful arc. All the WR needs to do is run under it in stride. Go Indians.

Third interception of the night for PN-G. The last PN-G team that I recall with so many interceptions on the season was 1977 with big Robert DeRutte and crew.

PN-G played this game just as I thought they would. I said earlier in the week size would hurt Dayton badly. Our lines killed in the trenches. Great play. This kind of football is not pretty football, but it is demoralizing to opponent's. I had gotten word that practice was very intense this week. I had a feeling we would come out to play some hard-nosed football.

Very good game overall. Running game dominant, passing game greatly improving, defense steady, not many penalties. Have to clean up the bad snaps for sure, as that could kill us in a close game. Looks to me like MCM will be the only real obstacle to running the table in district. That game is never easy and based on the way Nederland has been playing lately I doubt that this year will be any different (although I certainly hope that it will be).

Enjoyed the game @ Dayton. Good PN-G crowd...the best I have seen this season (compared to @ Texas City and @ FBW). At the game, it never felt like PN-G lost control of the tempo, flow, and dictating what they wanted to do against Dayton. At the end of the first half, the Indians left some points on the field when the offense had to rush that 4th and 1 play down around the 10 yard line. PN-G only had one time-out, but the Indians could have slowed down and got lined up right before attempting the power push. Oh well. PN-G still went in at half leading comfortably at 27-7. When I left in the mid-4th, it was 34-14. The QB looked really good. He handled a few bad snaps, took care of the football, and he made some great throws. He's really coming on. Each game is more experience and more confidence. #15 and #33 were reliable getting the tough yards and the big runs. #33 may be on of the best RBs to come through PN-G. He's got great vision and he's fast in the open field. Dayton could not catch him. #15 just bulls his away wherever he wants to go. Strong running. The OL just pushed Dayton around. If felt like PN-G had things clicking. On defense, it's the same story I saw @ Texas City. Dayton and Texas City had a hard time blocking PN-G's front three on the DL. #47, #94, and #44 are disruptive. #4 at the LB level is another problem for the other team because he gets to the football. Love the high energy motors of #47, #94, # 44, #4, #20, #43, #6, #26, and so many others. The defensive effort is relentless. Just need to clean up a few high snaps on PAT and punt team. PN-G needs to lock-up the DC. He's a difference maker. He can figure out the opponent and shut them down. Enjoyed watching our kids play well. Cherokee was as loud as ever. Next game...when the Indians return to Houston for the playoffs. Go Indians.

Enterprise Game Balls for Week 8 in Southeast Texas

Nguyen had an outstanding game as usual behind an overpowering offensive line and probably deserves a game ball in every game. But IMO a game ball should have gone to sophomore QB Conner Bailey who had a break out game with 200 yards passing, multiple TDs, and no turnovers. That was huge as this offense finally begins spreading the field and forcing opposing defenses to back off. That in turn will enable the running attack even more.
