Other than continued snapping problems and a few breakdowns in the pass defense, the team is looking pretty awesome all around. Joseph is following along with our desire for continued work on the passing game with spectacular results. Time for work by the backups in the second half!

The QB appeared to be much more comfortable... and accurate.I think his first 2 passes were TD's... That had to help his confidence a lot. The good thing, IMO, is that if Nerdland tries to pressure him too much, our RB's will have a banner night up the middle.

Last night we were all at the game standing above the back row. PNG went in for a TD at the exact same moment as Altuve hitting his homerun. As soon as the game ended (Astros) the PNG announcer told the crowd the Astros won and the place went crazy .

PNG looked very very sharp. For a second week in a row that Chattinger went for a long run for a TD. One thing I learned from that is when he hits the open field he is sort of like Trahan was where he has a another gear he hits. He has a very nice top end speed.

PN-G won in convincing fashion and I am not taking anything away from the Indians getting another W, but Santa Fe was terrible. We need to tighten up the pass coverage vs. Nederland and for the playoffs. It was difficult to gauge anything else vs. Santa Fe. How in the world did Santa Fe beat Galena Park? How bad must Galena Park be? I think our second and third team could beat Santa Fe straight up. Also, PN-G brought up some new kids this week. I wish we could find a ROSTER so we could identify players by name, class, and position. The second team QB needs reps throwing the ball, but he's got some wheels. He usually a WR, but nice to know that he can step in and play QB, if needed. Our playoff roster should be pretty stout. Combining the varsity with the district leading JV squad should give us some strong depth for another playoff run. Now, let's move on and kick Nederland's ass up and down the field. Go Indians.

I was in Midland on business this week. Decided to watch Permian play at Ratliff last night.

The response to that announcement was exactly the opposite. Lots of Rangers fans in West Texas, apparently.

Not sure, but definitely possible cause I saw 3 players on crutches and 2 or 3 on knee rollaters so coaches might have taken the opportunity to get a few some reps at different positions just in case.

We may have the best running back tandem since the 70s (Eicher and Shipley). Might be worthwhile to develop a few plays with both Nguyen and Chatagnier in the backfield. What could defenses do?

Pass defense seems to be our biggest defensive weakness, although to be fair this is mostly apparent because our run defense is for the most part an impenetrable brick wall. Still, we would be well advised to do what we can to shore up the pass defense as we prepare for the playoffs. With regard to the passing offense, it seems like Bailey has reached the point where if he is given enough time he can be lethal to opposing pass defenses given the way our receivers are developing. If we can take care of business during MCM (which is seldom an easy task historically), we should be well positioned for a deep playoff run.

I agree about #9. I'm not worried about him at all. He's no longer a first time SOPH getting snaps. He's played in some tough games, he plays with composure, the game is slowing down for him, and when he has time, he can sling it around the yard. #33, #15, and the back-ups #29 and #25 all run hard. The WRs are coming on. We just need a gritty, quick, sticky hands WR to go across the middle like #10 last year. When PN-G goes to the jumbo package and brings in the extra OL kids, who are #77 and #89? They are some big dudes up front. Also, I like rotation of the DL. They have a few new kids. #46, #99, and one or two more that look big and mobile.
