They replaced a db last week against barbers hill. It wasn’t until the 4th quarter. It should have been after their first play on offense. Our db was toast on that play and multiple plays throughout that game. This week right back out there getting burnt all over again. If I’m an opposing coach with half a brain and I watch film and see a certain number on the field getting smoked like that every week, it’s gonna be a long night for him when we play. Just saying.

I personally know Kroeker and Cox left due to philosophy indifferences with Faircloth as to personnel. The last defensive Cord jump ship as soon as he could due to constant bashing from the community when he did the best with what he was given on the defensive side of the ball. Faircloth stacks the offense to pad his resume for potential higher profile jobs after his son graduates. From what I’ve been told very selfish with talent when it come to Offense vs Defense.

There’s athletes on defense. Really just one problem spot. It was addressed in the 4th quarter against barbers hill. If that same group was on the field last night, that team don’t score 40 points.

I may be able to double-check. Sounds more like the yards per game average--108 per game.

Wortham had 991 yards going into the Stephenville game. 8 carries for 89 yards against S'ville in th state championship game. Official records have him at 1082 for the 1999 season. The running game, or offense in general was not nearly as prolific in those days as we like to think it was. Especially true for the 70s teams.

Numerous players last night were in great position to make tackles and plays. They just didn't do the best job of executing or covering a receiver. That's what is so frustrating and the reason for my game time rants.

Would have bet a lot that Wortham gained 1600 rushing yards in 1999, Jeff Jr. 1,000, and Long 500. That would have been roughly equivalent to the 3,200 passing yards Long compiled. But, I'm old.

The top rushing records are 99% accurate. Minus one percent because records are only as good as the statistician accuracy. It’s tough for anyone to recall anything from years ago. That’s the entire purpose of pngindians.com. Persist as many of the memories as possible to revisit or learn about.

I bet there is not another HS football website that has the content of pngindians.com. It is top notch.
