Question ? Are we throwing more this year then last because RJ seems to be throwing more int's then last year. If I remember he's had 40 plus attempts in several games this year that's a lot of throwing. Woundering wat his completion vs attempts are.

The past two years he had some of the best wrs in school history to throw to. This year I think he is feeling the pressure and the weight of his assignments and tries to force things sometimes. Definitely needs to think things through and take it one play at a time.

Taking into consideration injured time out and only RJ's 6.75 games played this season:

Attempts per game are +3.9 from last year.
Completions per game is +.1 (16)
Interceptions per game is +0.5
Yards per game is -19.3 (224.0 ypg)
Yards per completion is -1.3 yards
Completion % is down -0.09 (59%)
Touchdowns per game -1.0

Throwing the ball a bit more with slightly less success than last year, but passing game has improved over the last 2 weeks and should continue to improve.

Several factors at play IMO.
-Receivers aren't getting separation as in prior years, and dropping a lot of passes. (Comp % down to 59% from 68% last season)
-Running back play is subpar. (Deslatte injury and lack of power runner)
-Offensive line has not played as expected, and recent injuries have eroded protection even more.
-RJ's mobility is less than last season due to the ankle injury and maybe some other factors. (speculation)
-QB runs have been reduced due to injury and more commitment to passing. (speculation)
-Field vision and options are limited, and he's trying to make plays happen (taking more risk).

Add all that up and it's a perfect storm for the best of QBs to play through.

But we are talking about Roschon Johnson who can light up the boards at any moment, and an Indian team that is hopefully getting better each week. I'd like to think we haven't seen the best yet.

Defense looked great last week the best game of the season. The Roschon Cejas connection is heating up as well. They are synching up to each other well.

#9 & #12 will be part of the little Bost era I think both are Jr's # 21 is becoming a pretty good receiver, he prolly wish' she had another year but of course they all do. I think RJ is trusting Jose more and more as the season moves along. Someone needed to step up and #21 has done that for the receiving core he's gonna be a pretty good soccer player too.

Premature to talk about it because there's a lot of football left. But the offense has a lot of firepower next season. No RJ, but Bost's arm is the real deal, and the running backs can pick up the rushing responsibilities next season. #41 looks every bit as quick as RJ.

Even looking further I believe that in the 7th or the 8th grade Port Neches played Groves tonight for the district championship. Two good teams with some talented kids. A. Poole if future Indians to look out for would be Prosperie and Droddy

This is a nice group of players here, I think we'll be in good hands after this year. No disrespect to the players still playing I like what I see here. Your right Indianfan we still have at least 3 games and would be willing to bet a couple more on top of that left to play this year. Future looks real good for the up and coming team tho

Tough road game this week against a quality opponent. Imperative to start fast and stay on pace. The Indians can't have turnovers and they can't have self-inflicted problems, i.e., personal foul penalties. In high school football, I understand that 15-18 year old kids will hold, or have a false start, or inadvertently get out of position and commit a PI. They are high school kids playing the best they can play. That said, all kids should be able to control themselves and avoid the 15-yard personal fouls. On offense, do what PN-G does, create a mismatch and get the ball in open space. On defense, play sound technique and wrap up; get ball carriers on the ground. Block out the noise from the i-Pad forfeit and go play the last two games like your hair is on fire.

Go Indians. Peace.
