Well, we tackle better than Dayton

Yes we do. In 2020, PN-G plays much better defense in the 2nd half vs the 1st half. The kids playing defense, they play hard and they don't quit on a play.

BTW - another PN-G score.

3Q...time for the back-ups to get some playing time.

Wow, the kid can sling it. And some goods hands at WR too.

Will Crippen be a SOPH next year. Or, is he a SOPH this season and will be JR next season? He can sling it. Another great PN-G QB in the system!!!!!! I love it. Throw it all over the yard and send some kids to go catch it.

Go Indians. Peace.

His profile says class of 2024 but that must be wrong. He was QB of the freshmen team last season.

I agree. I'm watching it and I can hear former PN-G coaches Jerry Hooper and Terry Cobb yelling, "hit him, wrap up, and get him on the ground!" Coach Hooper, "put your hat on him!"

BTW - another PN-G touchdown.

PN-G 28
Dayton 6

Under a minute left in the first half. Go Indians!
Sorry to continue the critical descriptions of the tackling but it's mind boggling. Defensive players literally run alongside the ball carrier, arms extended and grasping for them on any open field play. This is arm tackling perfected to a level never before seen. I can only imagine that this is taught and practiced.
How about we focus on Dayton only scoring 6? Defense is doing great! Only look a negative...never positive. Int Dayton first drive? Great job defense?

Agreed. The defense bends, makes a great play, bends some more, makes a great play, and they always play much better in the second half. Whatever adjustments need to be made at halftime, they make them. My 0.02 cents, none of the comments are meant to be negative toward the kids or coaches. It's the old armchair fan mentality of wanting to see our kids excel and dominate in all three phases of the game. The alumni and fans that visit here, and more are welcome so please stay and participate, we all love our kids and coaches. A program like PN-G has alumni and fans that care. They watch games. They want the Indians to win 100-0. They want to go 16-0 every year. During games, they let emotion interfere with comments. It happens, but, the alumni and fans love our kids. Regardless of size, speed, and God-given abilities, our kids always play with great effort and passion. Our kids want to be Indians and they want to win and uphold the core values of PN-G: Honor, Pride and Tradition. They play their asses off wanting to add their contributions to the tradition of PN-G. I respect that. But, there are times when I make dumb comments. And, I agree we need to focus on the positive. The opening INT had me jumping up and down. Basically holding Dayton to 14-points was a good sign. On to Barbers Hill where we will cross the Trinity River and win 100-0.

Go Indians. Peace.

And, when I say the defense bends, I mean that as a positive. The other teams have good players and coaches, too. The other teams are going to make some plays. They will score. PN-G is not going to win every game 100-0 (even though we want them to win by that margin). Going through district, Barbers Hill, Crosby, Kingwood Park, and Texas City will put some points on the board. That's OK. PN-G will have its shot to win each game...and I think the Indians are going to do it. Momentum is building. PN-G is getting better. BH, Crosby, KP, and TC will not have anything that the Indians have not seen before from Port Arthur, Beaumont, Tomball, and Nederland. Barring injuries, PN-G will be in the race for the DC.

Go Indians! Peace.

There are no stupid opinions. Any of us here are dedicated, hard core PN-G supporters, fans and mostly alumni. But we are also dedicated football fans. I've dedicated a chunk of time and money for 20+ years to support the school online. But I personally don't wear purple tinted glasses. Or burnt orange tinted glasses, or silver and blue tinted glasses. (My favorite teams at the next levels.) Football is football. Certain fundamentals and successes are necessary to win. I want to see my favorite football teams do all those right things to improve their chances of winning. I told my son the very same thing when he was younger and playing football. If you're going to play do it right. And let's make sure the kids are aware of the right way to play. Effort without ideal technique equals mixed and lesser results. That is no indictment of the 2020 players. That's real life. Tough love has it's place. This current batch of kids want to win every game too. Here's to believing that the weaknesses will continue to improve, and the strengths get stronger.

Having said all that I have come to the realization that the game has changed from what a lot of us remember, and how we were taught to play, and observed the college and pro players playing for most of our lives. That's just another reality. You can't play with the same level of violence that the game was once played. You can't hit with your helmet, you can't hit someone in the face mask as hard as you possibly can with a goal of knocking their head off. I guess that's good in light of all the knowledge of brain injury, CTE, etc. But a solid hit and tackle with the shoulder is still a good thing I hope. Maybe not. Maybe kids are coached to just wrap up with the arms these days.

Great goal line stand. Great interception by #8! Great effort. Great win. Dayton gained 420 yards and scored 20 points. I bet the defensive play can adjust and improve and hold a winless Dayton team to fewer points. Coaches and players will be working on continued improvement! Crosby, Barbers Hill and playoff teams will be on another level than Nederland and Dayton.
