RB Vaughn with another powerful run for a TD. He should be the feature back and get plenty of touches. He runs north/south and he finds the end zone.

The PN-G rushing game gets another TD. This time it was RB Conner. Someone woke up the Indians OL. They are blowing open rushing lanes.

PN-G secondary with an INT. The Indians return the INT to the 5 yard line, but an illegal block puts the ball back on the Silsbee 49 yard line. The PN-G run game is BACK ON THE FIELD and driving for another score. The PN-G OL is taking over.

PN-G missed a 22-yard FG. Plenty long enough...just wide.

PN-G using ball control and depth to wear down Silsbee. PN-G driving the ball, controlling the line of scrimmage, and burning clock. Around 3:00 mins. left. Silsbee playing hard and doing good things. PN-G has too much depth and the ability to wear down the Tigers.

A late TD by Silsbee, but the Indians get the W over the Tigers.

Final

Per the PN-G radio team, this was win #599 in the history of PN-G football. IndianFan knows these things. He can verify the all-time win number. Coach Faircloth should soon become the all-time win leader in the coaching history of PN-G. IndianFan, you can crunch the numbers and post the all-time wins and the coaching records. Regardless, PN-G is 1-0 in 2019. A great road win to the start the 2019 season. Plenty to work on next week, but lots of positives. Good rushing game, not too many penalties, and the Indians generated some takeaways. Good game Indians. Lots of weapons. The next two games will be tough @ Huntsville and home for Tomball.

Go Indians. Peace.

Great win. Would have liked to see some killer instinct on that last Indian drive making it 55-28, but respect Coach Faircloth’s judgement. Game not as close as the final score. Way to start the season against a great Silsbee team!

Not yet.

The stats mentioned last night, which are typically not accurate was about 400 yards of offense for PNG with about 200 passing. Silsbee was mentioned as having about 250 yards of offense. I don't remember exactly.Keep in mind , Silsbee is one of the top 3 ranked 4A teams in that state. And they had some big kids on both sides of the ball, and 3 or 4 highly rated running backs. Don't fall for the poor little 4A team with no depth reasoning. Silsbee is a very good team.

The score could have easily been 59+ points . Coach Faircloth shut it down on that last drive.

Very balanced team. Defense looks great. Silsbee OL big but not as athletic as some we may see. #21 has developed over last year. Dae Dae LOOKS thinner but maybe because of height change (could’ve been the padding equipment) I’m not sure. But still fast. A handful of fast players one of those new face #13 a Sproles type returned several of the kickoffs. Honestly we have 7-8 very good WRs from what I saw. I didn’t have a program so I didn’t know some of what I was seeing but looks like we added several strong new players. #2 Root- new face CB not sure his year etc. Looks like nearly all players who suited up contributed in some way (special teams etc) which I like in a team. Kicker I assume younger brother to past kicker Sandel also #30 missed one FG and one PAT last night but that felt and looked unexpected. Found out at game time a distant cousin was #5 for Silsbee so that was fun. Speaking of looks like our #5 is fitting well at new position LB. the first couple of Silsbee long completions were just great throws and catches. There were some later “got beat deep” plays but not that many IMO. Silsbee will be better as their cardio catches up with their multiple “both ways” players later in the season (fatigue set in you could feel it) too many days over the summer (as one coach used to say) “you’ve been breathing in too much air conditioner.” (Or “you have too much AC in yo lungs”) )Didn’t make sense at the time but you know it seems to hold true lol.

True but it's 11 against 11 at a time. And the Indians looked great against Silsbee's 'fresh' players.

The Indian D is going to hold up very well. Very aggressive and quick to the ball. Just need to clean up the tackling and learn to look for the ball on pass defense. Silsbee had a few big plays but again, they're going to do that against anyone.

On offense, once the o-line gets their blocking schemes perfected they're going to be a lot of running lanes for #6, #11 , #20, #21 and others in that Indian backfield. Then when they load the box Bost will have multiple receiver options. Proenza and Wuenschel are both long threats. #13 is another new, fast receiver that's going to be a factor.

Like you said, great balance. It's going to be a great year!
