i see where png is playing a sqt (state qualifier tourney)in texas city this weekend.has png ever played in a qualifier before?i know they havent played in one in the last 5 or 6 years.

Yes, in '98 and '99 (the first 2 years PNG participated in 7 on 7) we qualified for the state tournament and played in College Station.

Coach Faircloth said there were too many conflicts with schedule for the Texas City tournament this Saturday. He does not want to compete with half the team so we will not do Texas City this Saturday. We will compete in the local league which begins this evening (Tuesday) and Thursday at Westbrook at 5:00 Varsity and JV. My only concern is the weather. Radar shows rain heading this way from the south. I will publish the PNG 7 on 7 schedule later today.

Got Some Scores and intersting Points from what I saw at the 7on7's

P.N.G beat Ozen 41 to 35 I think the score was.
Central Beat West Brook 15 to 13.
P.N.G beat Westbrook, Lets just say Alot to a little..
Ozen Beat Westbook *B* 21 to 0.. I guess that's Brooks JV..So really didnt count for Ozen
Central Beat WestBrooks *B* 21-7.. Same goes for this Game..

Didnt see Memorial Out thier Today.

Ozen Looked pretty good. Their QB will be good this year. Had flashes of Talent. Ozen will have some good athletes this yeart also. Really cant give a good Speculation, since it seemed like Ozen had alot of Players Hurt or banged up..But they Looked pretty good with the ones that did play.

P.N.G Looked really good out thier. Played very Disciplin Football, Ecspeicaly The Defense..Had alot of INT's.. Dotty Looked as Cool as any QB out thier. Reminded me of Tom Brady, the way he threw the ball.. Really threaded the needle with some of his throws, Ran alot of Pick routes to open up the Deep Ball. Recivers Caught 85% OF the balls thrown. P.N.G looked really good out thier..

Westbrook..Missin 3 starters but still Let Central come back from a 13-0 point hole at the half to win, Then Really got rocked aginst P.N.G.. Maybe Thoese 3 starters were really Key, So not really gonna talk alot bout Brook..Has some pretty nice recivers though..

Central's..Took em awhile to get Acclimated, But once turned on, they Never looked back..Speed, Speed, Speed..Specialy Defense, They looked Very good and Very Fast. QB had some bright spots, buh tryed to go deep alot insted of pickin the Defense off with the short routes.. Recivers also dropped more passess then they caught.. But Defense really took it upon their selfs to score , So Offense was help out by that..Central Looked good though, Cant wait to see a P.N.G offense vs Centrals Defense Match-up

I watched all games today at WB and i was truly amazed by Png's quarterback. This guy is the real deal. Ozen Qb was also real nice. He's gonna be something special. Probably the best athlete on the field. I must admit that Central's defense is intimidating. They are big, fast and very athletic. This is gonna be a very interesting district next year.

Thursday 6-10-10 game at West Brook.
PNG beat Central 36-34
West Brook beat PNG by about 11.
Looks like we were a little winded from having just played Central. We were into our second game while the game with us was West Brooks first game.

Great effort Indians. We still don't have all the team back.

I also made an adjustment to a previous post. Memorial is not in this league this year.

Yes when PNG played them (WB) on Tuesday they were missing Reyes thier returning QB and District MVP.

Looks good so far. I am sure the timing with the WR is the best thing all this brings. And with so many new WR this is much needed. Not to mention the new DB's as well.

Never gonna happen. WB has to play Ozen and Central because of the BISD thing, which limits them to one or two non-district games otherwise. No way they fill one of those with another 4A. Not even a Lake Travis 4A.

Ah, that's lame that they "Have" to play the other BISD schools. I think the past few years they have scheduled Katy (and again this year) as a non district team. Oh well, wishfull thinking. That said, LT would wipe the floor with them and most other 5A schools as well imo (atleast last year and this years team).

From what I understand, it is unlikely that we will qualify for the state tournament. This is due to the fact of the qualifiers are at times when we either would be missing Doty or a big chunk of the team due to vacations, etc. That's what I heard from one of the parents. But, on a positive note, I have heard that Doty and the receivers are getting their timing down and looking good. That is really the purpose of 7on7, so that is a big positive.

I know that Doty's dad is getting married this Sat., so maybe that's why Brennan is unavailable?
