Richmond Randle vs. Oak Cliff in Finals

Glad Randle won But…
I watched two teams full of athletes play backyard football. Neither was well coached. Randle got the two returns and some breaks (muffed punt and idiot coaching decision before half by Todd to go for 4th down with less than 2 minutes left). Randle had best player on field in space #1 and #26 was pretty good as well but never tried to get them the ball in space. Thats coaching. Randle started off scheming on O and then just stopped.
SOC will recruit harder and Randle will keep growing into a D1 team next realignment.

Are the SOC fans complaining that officials robbed them again of a state championship? Is the HC for SOC complaining about the holding call that nullified the 4th quarter TD? Houston area officials robbed them again? In 2023, against PN-G, it was the phantom pass interference call (that was clearly the right call on replay) and now in 2024, against Richmond Randle, it was the phatom holding call that took away a SOC TD. Time to recruit better. Need OL that will not tackle and hold defenders.

Not at this level you can't. You have to be strong and multifaceted. Like last year. Its ok to say we weren't this year. Its not a dig. The more you cover that up, the less it helps. IMO

Nobody likes SOC in the Dallas area. Their reputation for poor sportsmanship precedes them. Apparently not even their own fan base cares enough to drive 23 miles to a state championship game. Or maybe that was it. But kudos to them for making 4 straight appearances.
Texas high school football needs more teams like PN-G. If the Indians had hypothetically been in all those games... 20,000 * 8 = 160,000+ PNG fans.
Yet whoever produced the tv content showed zero positive video of PN-G. Either the onside kick recovery or that snippet of Shea Adams running into the end zone and raising the football up is classic and was worthy of showing. All the DFW mouths had to say was how SOC 'made up' for last years loss to PN-G. No they didn't. Nothing will make up for or change that outcome.

Then they looked like the three stooges on the FG try at the end
I had a patient with a kid on the Richmond Randle team and she told me they would win it this year because of their defense

Speaking of holding... That opening kickoff return against PNG? 4 holds, including 1 double mugging,1 tackle and 1 chop block. 5 tacklers held in the vicinity. No penalty. That's how the guy got the running start.
Interesting thing is Randall gave up about the same yardage as PN-G. And Randall is considered one of the top defenses in the state. Difference was Randall had defensive backs that tackle and prevented some long runs that PNG didn't.
