RJ’s stats are incredible historical artifacts, but the team performance is the focus, and how his weekly stats translate to wins, as I’m sure he would agree.

Seeing the big picture statistics puts to rest the false perception that he runs the ball 35+ times per game. He’s had very few games with that many carries.

To put it into perspective, he averages 340 yards per game total offense and FB Marshall averages I think 405. :pistols:

And the passing records...

http://www.pngindians.com/football/all-time-passing-records/

Other than a few rare seasons, primarily the Dustin and Mike Long era and by J. Musser in '92, PN-G has not had a significant passing attack before Coach Faircloth's arrival. So most of the top performances are by a handful of QBs from 2009-2018.

If you're thinking to yourself, "but we had a great passing game in the 70s", not so much. That consisted of a few well placed long balls to break up the run, and even in '75 was about 116 yards per game. '77 was a much stronger offensive team and David Fry only averaged 67 yards per game passing.

The offense in place today features record setting running and passing. If the offensive line can be figured out, PNG would be a lethal team every year.
