RJ getting his reps!

Starters and even backups often sit out preseason because coaches want to see the others in action to decide who else they’ll keep on the roster.

Very True .... I assumed he was just hurt or banged up and since it's preseason, and due to precaution, they just held him out as they want him healthy for the regular season. I also don't believe that they have to provide an injury report?

I also haven’t gotten a glimpse of him on the Hard Knocks show after that first week.
I’ve been following this too. I hate to say it, but unless he goes somewhere else - I fear his pro career is short.

But, he’s already working his next angle. Much respect for him.

My kids and I went early to the game so we could watch RJ during warm-ups. We were in Section 316, which is nowhere near the field level and on the opposite side from the Bears sideline, so we could not get close enough to even try and get his attention, but we watched him warm-up. I'm glad we did because that's all we saw of him except for the shoving back and forth that happened on the Bears sideline. That was across the way from us and I could not see what happened, but my son said that RJ stepped in to protect another Bears player and the Texans LB pushed RJ. I have no idea why the Bears don't use RJ. They are wasting his talents. Maybe he's injured? I don't know? I was hoping to see him score a TD...and the Texans still get the win. Well, we got a Texans win, but no RJ. Maybe next time. A night game witht the roof open was GREAT! There were a lot of Bears' fans at the game. It reminded me of the old Astros games against the Cubs...when the Cubs' fans would flood the Astrodome or Minute Maid Park. Chicago fans travel.

He was a a healthy scratch last week ... I kept forwarding to offensive plays and never saw him, so I assumed the same. If the RB's they have keep playing bad, maybe he will get his chance. They did absolutely nothing running the ball vs Houston.

4th string now. It’s a tough league. And ironic that a young, determined player like RJ is not getting touches, yet a washed up Ezekiel Elliot is playing in Dallas and not doing much at all. What ticks me off is the 3rd string guy they put in front of RJ seems nothing more than a journeyman. I can only assume that Roschon is maybe a half step slower than the other backs and is just not getting the yards he would ideally gain. Can’t think of any other reason that coaches would not be playing him more. The QB needs more protection, RJ is the best blocking back on that team. Play him and then give him some carries or screen pass opportunities while he protects the superstar QB.

Punched him in the face
I am by no means a Texans fan and stuff like this doesn't help generate interest in the team for me. RJ was calming the situation and helping the Texans player up from the ground and what does he get for his efforts...a cheap shot punch to the face. This was the first prime time game for the Texans in over a year and this is the character that they exhibit? I know it was one dude out of 53, but if the Texans are a serious organization (which they claim to be), they need to make a statement that this type of action will not be tolerated. Fine and suspension or else I'm done even turning on my tv for these clowns.

I went to the game…been a ride or Texans fan since day 1 and I’m CONFIDENT Coach Demeco Ryan’s doesn’t tolerate that kind of nonsense, plus he’ll probably get a hefty fine and possible suspension from the league…which HE SHOULD! This is Al-Shaair’s first season with the Texans and might be his last if that kind of behavior continues! I wanted to go BEAT HIS @$$ for messing with our guy!! But as usual, Roschon handled it like the good sport and LEADER he’s always been!

Just what I’ve heard. RJ is coming off a toe injury which occurred during training camp so it is a game time decision on how it feels. Not sure this is 100% true but that’s what I heard from around town.

Correct, a toe injury has kept him out. He was the starting RB in the first pre-season game but was not active for the last three pre-season games or the first regular season game.
