I honestly had the thought that he and Bijon might go to the same team and use Roschon as a Wildcat QB as well as RB
They’ve seemed to become very good friends

The list of combine invitations is usually released in early February.

The Senior Bowl is played on February 4th.

The combine workouts are usually the first week of March.

I think RJ's stock is so high that he will definitely be invited to the combine. Whether he decides to go or not will be up to him and his advisors. His stock is so high, he could skip the combine and have all the pro scouts come see him perform at UT's pro day. There is no doubt that the pro scouts know who RJ is, what he can do, and the value that he brings to a NFL team. I would not be surprised to see him drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round. He's that good. No major injuries in high school or college, excellent production on the field at UT against top-notch competition, the best teammate and leader you could have on the field, great production in the classroom (he has a degree), and great production in the community (who wouldn't want RJ living right next door; he's better than Mister Rogers; everyone wants RJ to be his/her neighbor). RJ has talent, skills, and charisma. Rock solid young man. He's got what every NFL team wants in a player and he could be the face of a franchise. He's earned it all. I've said this for years...I like him at RB, but I still love him at QB. I'd put the ball in his hands as much as possible. He's still the best long ball thrower I've ever seen in person. At PN-G, he threw beautiful bombs...perfect arc/spin, and he dropped it into the WRs hands.

He has been ranked among the top 10 running back prospects by multiple well respected analysts, so he will surely be invited. In addition to all of the qualities we all know about and which have been mentioned on many posts on this website, there are two qualities that are less well known that should significantly increase his value for any smart NFL scout: (1) He was an outstanding special teams player at UT and (even more importantly) (2) He only fumbled ONE time during his entire career at UT.

Yes and that fumble was vs KState in a breakout run freak play where the defender actually came from the SIDELINE side when he was within a foot of the boundary
Super unusual

I still say a Jet Sweep pass would be virtually unstoppable send the WR AND same side slot deep the CB has to choose either to stop the run or cover the receiver

Broke his hand during 1st day of SB practice and will not play in SB game. May also limit his participation in combine. Really bad luck, as he was steadily moving up as a draft prospect. However, the injury will reportedly not require surgery, and he reportedly impressed the scouts during the 1st day of practice. Hopefully he can overcome this obstacle and still garner the recognition he deserves.

Just when it was looking like he might finally be fully recognized and have an opportunity to stand out, this happens. There was even some conjecture from draft pros that 2nd round was feasible if he had a great week.

The guy can't catch a good break.

Bloggingtheboys.com writer Brian Martin has Dallas Cowboys selecting RJ in the 4th round in his recent mock draft. More interestingly, he sees RJ as a RB1 and views him as a potential “future of the (RB) position” for the Cowboys. What a dream!!! Unfortunately, I doubt he will still be available in the 4th round, so they would probably have to draft him earlier than that if they want him. However, stranger things than that have happened in the NFL for sure. More than anything, I just hope he gets drafted by (1) a team I like, or at a minimum, not a team I hate and (2) a team that has a reasonable chance for success. I am not worried about him being drafted by a team where he has a chance to be a starter, because I think he will eventually be a starter no matter what happens in the draft.

Great thoughts. I would like him to land in a market that is televised here in TX every week. But it’ll be great to see him in the NFL anywhere with a shot at playing. He’s still in the early stages as a RB and will continue improving. He will continue to be a great leader and multitalented player.

Forgot about the TV aspect, but I agree with you on that one. Unfortunately, I think that the Texans are a lost cause at the present time so that would conflict with (2) above. However, I guess if it comes down to it the ability to watch him play more frequently would count for something. In any case, I will be forced to become a fan of whatever team ends up with him regardless of whether it fits with (1) or (2) in my post above.
