San Antonio Hotel Reservation

Just confirmed my room at the Rivercenter. I get chills just thinking of all the Purple on the Riverwalk Friday night before the Saturday game. Anyone have plans? Would love to INVADE a restaurant or, even better, how cool would it be to "host" a pep rally at the outdoor theater on the river right by the Marriot Riverwalk.

The Riverwalk has all kinds of restuarants. However, one of my favorites is "Dick's Last Resort". It is a little bit of everything menu, picnic benches, blues music, beer in buckets - football kind of atmostphere. Been a while since I've been down there, but I believe it's close to the Alamodome. I'm sure that's where my crew and I will be.

Don't bring the kids unless your OK with them hearing vulgarities! I personnally love the place.

The football team will be there by then. The rest of us will get there Saturday afternoon and head home Sunday.

Question for you Bandkid, Will the band & Indianettes be at the game? Heard a rumor they will not due to money. If no we need to start working on something to get them there. As far as the hotel goes already have reservations at the Marriott Rivercenter. Looking forward to some adult beverages at Dirty Nelly's.

We are staying at the Drury Plaza hotel on the Riverwalk. 2 rooms for 3 nights is $980.00 Plus $18.00 per night to valet park. Includes a full breakfast, afternoon snack and evening finger foods. It's 1 mile from the Alamodome. If you stay down by the river make sure you check out the parking situation. Some hotels do not have a safe place to park your vehicle. The parking, or the lack thereof is horrible downtown. We are so excited about this- can't wait to bring the purple wave to San Antonio.

The last I heard (which was mid to late December), the football team is going up on Friday, staying the night, playing the game, and coming home Saturday. The band and everyone else will leave Saturday morning, perform at the game, stay Saturday night, and come home Sunday.

I think the school district is willing to do whatever it takes to get the band and Indianettes there (PN-G football just isn't PN-G football without Cherokee, the Marching I, etc.), it's just a question of what we will have and what we will do without.

By all means, every student who normally participates in Friday night football should be able to particiapate in San Antonio. If money is the problem, there is plenty to time for the community to raise the necessary funds.

Telling the band and Indianettes they can't go is like telling the football team that only the starters can go.

I don't have a child in any of these programs, but I am willing to help in any way I can.

This (Hotel Contessa) is where we are staying. I live just up the road a ways, but we decided to stay down there Saturday night and make a weekend of it with the gang.

Made our reservations at the LaQuinta at 11155 West Loop 1604 about eight weeks ago. We decided to stay out a little way because friends who live in SA say that there are security issues around the River Walk and Alamodome and they didn't consider it safe. I figure with as many Indians that will be making the trip, there are bound to be some staying where we are. We booked seven rooms for Friday and Saturday night so that is a good bit of purple right there. There are supposed to be several good restaurants in the area including a Cheesecake Factory. I look forward to seeing the purple and white Indian Nation invading SA and the Alamodome....it will be a sight to behold.

We are staying at the Hotel Contessa also. Just a head's up, but we booked the $169.00 room for only $118.30 on www.hotels.com tonight. I phoned the hotel and was quoted $169 or 199 only then it came up on Hotels.com so we booked it and have already received our confirmation. Friends say its a really nice hotel with separate rooms and a large bathroom and all the amenities including coffee maker. Hope to see lots of purple along the Riverwalk Friday night.

It's a great hotel with spacious rooms. It's a little out of the way but not much. $169 is a bargain, $118 is a steal.
