The Indians scrimmage against their longtime nemesis tomorrow evening in Port Neches.

A good season warmup for both teams.

The Indians will know where they stand after lining up with the Mustangs. WO-S will be fast and physical. Controlled scrimmage? Live quarter? Here's to an injury free scrimmage for both teams.

Per the PA News online article, the scrimmage will kick-off at 7p. Live, game like scrimmage sans kicking game.

WOS 21 PNG 14 midway through 2nd . Crippen throws a pretty deep ball. Offense will score a lot of points. Unless defense improves maybe some high scoring games.

Reports from the scrimmage indicate the defense has a lot of work to do.

Who wants to play some defense!?

It may be just playing a base defense. In practice I saw blitz packages being worked on. Non were used tonight

The offense is loaded with potential. Crippen will be impressive

A first scrimmage is an opportunity to figure out who belongs on first team and spot weaknesses. You cannot simulate anything like a scrimmage with WO-S.

I was there and what I saw was defense has potential, offense is gonna be decent. Faulk was not playing tonight which is a key player on defense.

Other reports.
  • Crippen is the real deal. Great accuracy and has some wheels.
  • Trahan is the real deal at RB.
  • Jansen Ware is a beast at offensive tackle.
  • Young offensive line needs to maintain blocks and dial up physicality. 250+ across the line.
  • Offense will pass and run for big numbers this season. No surprise there.
  • Defense is hitting better. Still some tackling issues and some misreads and slow reactions. WO-S will show any team’s defensive weakness.

  • WO-S QB has a very good arm. Skill position players have some serious speed. They will run up some big numbers this season. Nothing new there.
  • WO-S is playing better fundamental football than PN-G at this stage.
  • WO-S holds a lot. It's practically their blocking technique.
It was the first scrimmage. The players will learn from this, improve and be better adapted to the speed of an actual game versus lazy practices.
