Scrimmage tonight

Awesome video!!! I had a discussion with NDNBand69 about the differences in pre-game warmup. Memorial was totally undisciplined, literally dancing on the field during their warmup. PNG was focused and warmed up like a well oiled machine. The difference showed during that first quarter when only the first strings were in.

Thanks for your fantastic videos '93.

That was also a great description of the warm ups on the field. We have so much to talk about and watch from just one scrimmage. The crowd was electric and huge.

This was by Maverick on another site:

I made the trip over to Port Neches to check out this scrimmage. I'm not a "PN-G fan", but I have watched a few PN-G games in the past and this team really looks good. Doty, DeRon and Harmon are the real deal. The first team defense didn't look too bad either. The secondary still needs some work IMO. It's amazing how far Faircloth & his staff has brought this team in such a short time.

20-4A is going to be one of the toughest districts in the state this year and the 4 teams that survive to make the playoffs are going to have a lot to be proud of.

IndianFan.....I was hoping KFDMcoop would have done it by now.....he's a busy man. :)

I want to congratulate every member of our team......all that work is paying off. It's hard to imagine such a performance for the first scrimmage. Most teams are just trying to see who can play and trying to shake off the rust, this looks mid-season. Doty's pocket presence, ability to avoid rushing lineman and his accuracy throwing on the run. . . . amazing. His rifle arm, quick delivery and all our receivers catching those bullets......this is going to be fun.

That defense was swarming! Our defense had 2 fumbles recovered, one interception (nice Dre) and a pick up of a muffed punt for a touchdown (Dre again).

Thank you Coach Faircloth and your talented staff for your outstanding ability to prepare our Indians.

Now team......forget all I said......get ready for game 1.

Does anyone else see a little bit of D.L. in Doty?

From what I've seen so far, he has good pocket awareness. He also has a strong and accurate arm. Let's give him a few weeks to see what other intangibles he can bring to table. But, so far, so good!

Only thing I seen he needs is to get a little stronger. I don't know what is wrong with his knee but he still seems to be favoring it.

As far as Memorials pregame ritual went, I talked to one of their coaches that told me they actually practiced that singing and dancing around instead of stretching. He also told me several of the players have approached him and asked what does all this have to do with us wining football games ????

Sounds like PAM is going to be in for a rough year. Harrison has always been a goof ball, at least since I worked over there.

That dancing around crap really hacks me off. It reminds me of LaMarque. Round Rock Stony Point does the same thing. My stepson is playing for them and I tell him that I can't stand that BS  and that I'm embarrassed every time they do that.

Ugh!! LaMarque makes me sick, particularly a guy named Glen who thinks he knows all about football and more than anyone else does. His moniker is Coog4life and some PNG fans converse with him, but I'd bet they don't know the names he called us in 1999 when we whipped up on them. He called us "purple inbreds" among other things. Hope they never win another game.

Actually, C4L (Glen) used to rub me the wrong way too, back some 8-10 or so years ago, when I first started talking on these boards, but as the years passed, and I started talking to him more and more, I started to respect some of the things he talked about. There's no doubt, whether you like him or not, that he really knows his football. He's also been humbled considerably (IMO) since the Cougars seemed to have cycled out of playoff contention, and gone through several coaches in recent years. I've come to know him rather well, and even met him for lunch in Clear Lake (enjoyed every minute of it too), and believe me when I tell you, he's not the same C4L that I talked to (and locked horns with?) 10 yrs ago. He'll also be the first to tell you all about the Cougars problems (and he's usually right).

People change...so have we... and I, for 1, am proud to now call him my friend. And even though I may have a certain report with others on this board, and we get along fine, I can't say that they are all my "friends". More "acquaintances", I suppose.

As far as the topic goes, at least when we saw LaMarque do those things on the field, they were backing it up with "W's". PAM can't say that. They're just jumping around, looking like idiots. Personlly, I don't like those type of antics on the field, AT ALL! To me, it's very unsportsman-like.

But, what do I know...I'm friends with C4L

Well, Proud, you know that I respect you and your opinion, so I'll choose to believe that he has changed (C4L). He was very insulting in the past, but if you call him "friend", then I guess I can forget about what he said way back then. Everyone, even me, sometimes mouths off and regrets it. I try never to make it personal, though, and hope he has learned that, also. I hope you call me "friend" also.

Just to be perfectly clear here, I never said I have a problem with C4L!

However, when I've seen LaMarque, and now unfortunately my stepson's team (Round Rock Stony Point), they look like punks out there.
