But they like having all their teams in 6A
Sterling and GC Memorial etc
So they have been opting up
Ironic because Baytown Lee was better this year than in a long time

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Not really fair to the kids, to be forced to compete at a higher level.

It’s one thing to opt up to 6A from 5ADI. It’s something else to do it from 5ADII. Word elsewhere is that Lee isn’t opting up this time around because the enrollment gap is just too big.

Seeing it posted elsewhere that FB Willowridge reported 1,270.5 students. That's below the 1,300 student cutoff between 4ADI and 5ADII from the last realignment. I'm skeptical they'll opt up.

With Splendora and Baytown Lee posting solid 5ADII numbers, it's hard for me to see how FB Marshall stays in our district.
Ft. Bend Kempner dropping to 5a 2 also. I could see Willowridge opting up. Lee staying down. Going to be interesting districts

TC and SF likely to be staying with FBM and FBW. With Iowa Colony moving up and Terry and FBK down I would think:
1. TC
2. SF
3. IC
4. FBM
5. FBK
6. Rich Randle
7. Rich Terry
8. Rich Lamar Cons.
9. FBW if they opt up.

1. PNG
2. Ned
3. Dayton
4. GP
5. Splendora
6. Mont
7. Lake Creek
8. NC West Fork
9. Baytown Lee if they don’t opt up again

This would send Brenham, Rudder and HVille to R4

Too much travel. The good old days of primarily local schools playing each other is over.
Our district in the 70s-80s (maybe longer)
Us (Texas High)
Marshall (70 m) (closest)
Longview & Pine Tree (100 m)
John Tyler & Lee (120 m)
Nacogdoches (150 m)
Lufkin ((170 m)

So imagine Laporte being the closest district opponent lol
(Lufkin was 4 hrs on the yellow bus lol)

Too bad PNG and Nederland are 5A. All of the nearby, historical opponents from the area are mostly 4A now. Now both schools have to make long hauls to travel to games.
