TC RB had almost 400 yards rushing and 6 TD’s.
He had 935 yards in 8 games before today--117 per game. So, he definitely improved his stats. And, apparently TC also had a large lineman-type in the backfield who scored a couple of TDs.

Plenty of holding on that first big run by Texas City. And throughout the game.

Hard to understand why the defense is struggling so much. Time after time a ball carrier will be surrounded by PN-G players but they are not utilizing any type of successful technique to stop the runner. They are attacking the play and in position but not executing a tackle. Opposing runners run through multiple attempts at arm tackles or just run by the defender. This can only be interpreted as a lack of understanding how to take good angles, break down and tackle. The only way to improve the defensive program and performance is to emphasize these techniques and put in place a learning and practice routine. And practice it over and over. Sounds critical but it's the cold, hard facts. There was a time when PN-G players excelled at fundamentals and technique. It can be accomplished again.

Texas City just registered about 1/3 of the total points they had scored all year in this game. And the running back increased his season rushing yardage by about 30% in this game.

Port Neches-Groves defenses have allowed 300 or more points in a season only 6 times since 1925.

When you don’t practice something on a consistent basis, you don’t get better. PNG never practices good hard tackling. My son played a few years ago and I would go watch practice when I could. Not once did I ever see them hit anybody. They would walk up to each other wrap up like they were hugging and let go. Like I said, you can’t get better if you don’t practice. When I played we had tackling drills Monday thru Wednesday.
